Or.... they are just driving normal and the hills just happen to slow them down.
Never really understood this concept of "making up for lost time" except when you run into a friend you haven't seen in years.

Thanks for the replies.
I was told that the purpose of leap frogging is to speed over long distances, using the power of numbers and the passing lane as a weapon. By law you can go 10mph over the speed limit to pass someone. So if say 15 truckers are in a row and all constantly leap frogging each other nobody is really going the speed limit and nobody is technically breaking the law.
It should be noted that the person who told me this has been wrong about 75% of everything that has come out of his mouth. So i thought i would verify with you folks.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -

Wow thank you everyone. And thank God he told me this two days ago and not 2 months when i started. #### I'm gullible lol.
He is home right now with a broken ankle. My boss is setting me up with a new teammate. This is two teammates/trainers in a row who tried to push me to speed and destroy my record.
I am putting my foot down on the third guy. One of the first things out of my mouth to the next guy is going to be "i dont speed. Dont push me to speed and if you have a problem with it then you can drive on my hours and like it."
I'm pissed. Boss wants to put me back with that guy when his ankle heals. Ain't happening. -

In practise, yes, it's often "necessary" to speed in order to effect a pass safely. I do it, I just try and make sure there's no LEOs about when I do.
