Indeed. Supply and demand for the win.

No win when regulated to max in favor of Mega against OO. More shippers have req for delivery and fines included. ELD will make it next to impossible to make times which are now hard enough with traffic.
We have always used a ELD but all the tricks won't help if letter of law on HOS applies. Don't fool yourself that rates will go up and you will get more work. It will be less do to ELD and HOS plus traffic.

Well, it no fun with bad weather but at least it could be worse.
Hubby has a 2400 mile run out west with 3 stops. We're hoping for not so bad weather.
So far just today rain , sleet and snow and back again.
He had to get more chains before heading out as trailer is dual wheel.
    Welcome to winter all.

Hubby came home to renew his CDL with hazemat. He has everything on it and wants to keep it that way for when he changes company down the road.
Now back in Michigan trying once again to get another trailer fixed. I think it's time to start docking pay on these drivers doing this and reward the one that take them to be fixed. Too much time wasted on old breaks that could have been fast fixes if done when happened.
Here's a good one for you all.
How many times can you Legally Recap a tire?
I will tell you now it's not 4 but that was what we had on trailer. Tire was a 1998 too and very dry rotted. Some drivers never did pretrips on last year. Wow really need to make drivers pay for that one. It's a bad hit in DOT

I'll tell you what....when I was a company driver I was fixing more of our trailers then our shops were. Since I have been out on my own I have had no lost time repairing other peoples problems. You are correct companies should hold the previous driver accountable for repairs the current driver must make, and compensate the driver for his lost time. But don't hold your breath on that one.

Well, were in the hole again thanks to this week's stupid accounting time. All paperwork for week to be in today. Well, that sucks and puts us in a huge hole for run hubby is on he just bought fuel for but doesn't delivery finish till tomorrow. Now it's a good 6 stop but timing could be better. Nothing ever goes easy. I am now just paying this months mortgage. My bills for end of month will be very late. Gotta send off taxes so we don't touch that money.
But we have Thanksgiving bought and I will start that tomorrow as I make stuffing from scratch. We will be having it Saturday when hubby comes in for one day. Hopefully I will not see him again till Christmas as we need running now. Frieght up so should not be a problem.
    Happy Thanksgiving all.

I quit a Equity a little while back, just had enough. Really I am pretty much done driving a big truck, I started my own oversize escort biz. I'll still post on here from time to time but been wanting to try od escort and see how it works out for several years. Can make the same money or even better if you run the road. I am starting out with about 5-600 mile radius from the house. Best of luck you guys.
