Fuel is now $4 a gallon, time for all of us to demand $4 a mile minimum on all loads

My fuel cost is around.50 cpm now, rising towards.55 - but at $7.75/mile all miles TTT, it’s way down on my list of concerns.

 

If you’ve got a fuel efficient truck and demand at least the National average fuel surcharge you should actually be putting money in your pocket when fuel prices go up.

 

Soon a cheeseburger will be $25.

You can get a large pizza for less than a value menu meal.

 

That would be in and out burgers.

 

Just paid $250.39 in THE COMMUNIST STATE for 60 gallons. Got $100 cash so that doesn't count. This after discount.

So $4.17 gallon.

 

I went from $0.36 to start the year, and my rolling cpm is now bumping $0.47. Not that significant of a jump, but I still get a sinking stomach feeling when filling up and the pump reads $800. I haven't adjusted my salary, still the same $150 a week that it was 15 years ago.

 

I hear ya. I doubt I’d be running this bus at 6.25mpg if I was on a mileage contract or dedicated door slamming 3,000 miles a week.

At the end of the day, it’s still $ in the oil companies pockets, not ours.

 

I ain't taking a pay cut. 11 days out, 34 reset 6 days in, 26.5k gross.
