Theres a Pilot in Miami that has a guy watching the fuel pumps all day. After they finish fueling, if they don't move, he goes at them with a bull whip.

10 seconds to move or the boot goes on the tire and comes off when the wrecker gets there and paid. That would be my preference, and definitely worth having to back out of the fuel lane to watch.

I did a bad thing at a fuel island once in the middle of F'n nowhere. Never expected it, because I wasn't paying attention.

I was the bad guy, and yes, I'm embarrassed. I literally broke my own rules. It bit me.

Don’t worry, the egg heads have it all figured out. And, my friend, they’ll do it without disturbing the nesting grounds of the red bellied salamander!

I'll be impressed when the egg heads get fusion figured out. Those other energy ideas just feel like half measures.

All they have to do is put the fuel island at the back of the parking lot, and make it so you have to back in to get fuel.

Edit: you would still get those 2 or 3 super truckers that would insist on nosing in anyway...

Those are known in the trucking industry as TA truck stops.

Any of y'all remember the Loves in West Little Rock AR before it burned down? If you pulled forward after you fueled you literally were BLOCKING THE STREET and NOBODY in the parking lot or fuel islands to your right could exit the parking lot.

I was so happy when that place burned down. They rebuilt it SO much better than it was. They turned the fuel islands 90 degrees so you actually have room to pull up now.

Perhaps the truck stop could hire some portable tankers to go around and fuel up all the waiting trucks at peak times, although I'd gather that in itself would create a safety issue.

So I gather from that the fire wasn't an accident.

That was North Little Rock. There is no West Little Rock. :)
