Seriously, does anyone have an idea as to whats going on lately? Lol

Dryvan ya we all know its been crashing lately (wage wise) and we know why…

But fuel wages now too? Personally Ive been able to still scope out places paying 40 with ot after 40, however, Im a bit worried because a LOT of places are paying 21-26$ and/or only .60 cpm for fuel within the past month, few weeks? Several reddit posts pissed about it. Sounds isolated but I am picking up a pattern and its spreading, same as when it happened to other freight types.

I figured wed be better protected with hazmat needing that “extensive” background check, and thus kind of protecting our wage as a side effect.

Think places are “testing the waters” by dumping wages this bad?

Or is something else going on. Seems crazy to me

I mean like I said good spots are still out there today, but the wage dropping thing can spread like a cancer….and now Im seeing it in fuel too…….

Are you talking about fuel hauling jobs? I'm not sure what you're talking about either.

Ya company drivers and fuel delivery jobs / wages.

Its something Ive been tracking the past year or so. Despite all the steep drops in some dryvan wages, fuel wages have mostly stayed stable in the 30-40 an hour range. Good places with OT after 40 like cli etc.

but just in the last month Ive been seeing a LOT of places suddenly trying to offer only 21-25 for these roles. One place even just 20 an hour, lol

There are members on here that said in another thread that fuel hauling isn't what everyone thinks it is. I was actually surprised when he told me what the market was for hauling fuel. If I remember right, it was mid to upper 20s per hour. My friend had applied to PFJ and he think they offered him in the upper 20s, but that's in Alabama though.

Ya Ive heard that too about it not being what they thought.

I know sheetz does really good pay wise, and some odd 28/29 here and there (In OH now myself) But 20-24 just seems like a new low to me, like ####…going back over my notes of places and their pay the last year I actually haven't come across even one “that” low, now I have 7 places, just like that, for July.

    THERE ARE TOO MANY DRIVERS

can't say it any other way.

The CDL process is a joke, it needs to be harder to get one, the hazmat test are too easy and with all the other crap to get meat into the seats in this industry, it is easy for a company to pick and choose drivers who are desperate to work, they will work for reduced wages.

You can thank the truck driver shortage for this lol.

If many drivers knocking down doors to work for cheap why pay more?

This was by design. People were saying it 5, 6 and even more years ago.
Tried to talk briefly to a driver at a warehouse last week. Could not speak any english.
How did he get a CDL?
It is going to get worse.
