That was your bad, I had the same expired reg and temp, but made sure not to leave a terminal without a new one way before the 45 day temp expired. Other Swift employees are merely window fixtures, don't ever expect them to actually help you.

I'm sorry you're in this problem scottie. We never go through the DM or office concerning tags, permits or anything of that nature unless they bring it to us. We go straight to the permit office. I sure hope things work out for you.
scottied67 Thanks this. -
Yep you know my mentor told me way back in June '10 to get a trip to Phoenix and take my permit book in for them to look at. I never got the chance. Luckily everything is alright now, it's just the first two people I spoke to this morning were more focused on playing the blame game with me rather than helping me with my problem.
Yes I understood that each DM's driver has color codes for when things need attention like expired registration, or log violations etc would highlight that driver's name in red so the DM knows to remedy the situation.
I think everything's going to be OK. And the accident was on December 29th so it may very well be too soon to be in the system. I sent the details of the accident from the Iowa State Patrol's website directly to my DM (LOL) maybe that's why I will never hear another word about it lol.rocknroll nik, Fewe, The Challenger and 4 others Thank this. -
Is everything okay? I'd hate to say it, but even if you didnt get a ticket for the accident, Swift will ding you with a preventable. Why you ask? because in adverse weather (even when its perfectly sunny) you have to "drive for 5". meaning your 4 corners and YOU. Anytime i get passed on roads that are not 100% dry, i'll keep an eye on the passing vehicle till they are PAST me. If the roads are ice/snow covered, i'll even back off so they get around me faster.
You might think there wasnt anything you could do to avoid it, but there was. If you DONT get a preventable, i would be very suprised.... -
You aren't the only one who has rolled a truck with bad permits/IFTA etc. I got fed up with it and decided that no truck that my fat ##### is sitting in will roll with ME behind the wheel unless it is COMPLETELY legal. They can put all the loads on you they want, don't put the truck in gear until you get the things you need.
Folks we gotta start putting our foot down on garbage like this. The DM doesn't really care. They just want to get freight moved. They don't care about your license. Stop rolling, make it legal, THEN roll. -
totally agree. the past few days i've seen messages giving drivers a heads up about weather, how to obtain weather, but they always say "we want you to be safe".....but you know darn well that if you let them, they'll ding you with a service failure faster than a bum would pick up a $1 bill in New York.
If you're DM isnt doing their job in assisting you get your permits, etc., then its time to talk to his/her boss. and if that dont get anywhere....time to talk to the TM.scottied67 Thanks this. -
Negative, Mr. Jones. Or I would have had three service failures in December for two bad weather and one driver ill. Send in your Macro 22 as soon as you even think you're going to be late.
Regarding permits, it is the driver's responsibility to make sure all needed permits are current. If they aren't, call Permits in Phoenix and have them fax what you need. Yes, you'll pay out of pocket if you're not at a terminal, but scan in your receipts and you should be reimbursed. There is no way two ladies down in the Permits Department can be expected to babysit over 16,000 trucks.
The O/P got lucky that cop didn't write a ticket. The Challenger, Texas-Nana, scottied67 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Newbs, don't get the wrong idea here. You can stop when the weather is bad- just communicate it ASAP. Use the Macro 22- that's what it's for. I'm not advocating stopping if you see a snowflake; driving in imperfect weather is part of our job. But when it's blizzarding (I made a new word!) or icy, you can stop the truck without penalty.scottied67, Injun, cookie278 and 1 other person Thank this.
