    I've always been given Frieghtshakers & Internationals. Currently, I'm in a 2019 International w/auto.

Dispatcher called last week & said my new truck is in. Waiting on some last minute things before we pick it up. Since I didnt know I was getting a new truck, I asked him what it was. He said it was a Volvo. We already have some Volvo 760's so I'm assuming that's what it is. It will be an automatic.

What am I in for? Good, bad or indifferent. All relevant opinions & experiences appreciated.

If the Volvo has the premium shifter package and manual mode is available... I think you will like the shifting once you figure it out. I drive my Volvo in Manual Mode over 95% of the time. Its almost like having a true manual once you get it figured out.

It’s the quietest truck on the road. It turns really well. If you idle at night it’s the smoothest idling truck out there.

The storage isn’t great. The jake brake is fine for normal traffic but it could be better in the mountains.

Make sure to have plenty of plastic grocery bags to fill up and discard anywhere you stop.

You must also assume the attitude that you are the only one around and feel free to block everything, skip lines, and act stupid when called out on it.

When in the restroom, put your phone on speaker and talk as loud as you possibly can so dispatcher/slave runner Boris can hear you over grunts and farts.

I think you will be just fine!!

I'm seriously jealous!!! I'm in a 2019 and would love to update into a 2022. Volvo's have the smoothest ride, they have a tighter turning radius and are a bit lighter than the other trucks. So, they work pretty well for tighter docks and heavy loads, which my usual Anyway.
I hope you enjoy it!! I really like the Volvos and don't want to drive anything else.

    Well said.

Only thing that you forgot is the bathroom sink foot washing.

It's a shame that flip floppers gave volvos have a bad reputation, they're probably the most luxurious trucks on the road. The new VNLs actually don't look bad. The mid roof sleepers with dual stacks catch my eye. I read that the D13 is the same as the Mack MP8, which is what's in my Mack. They run a lot better than I expected. I don't win any races but I keep up with the long hoods pulling the forest hills in central PA. I think you'll like it a lot

My mom comes over today with my sister and other daughter to exchange gifts with the kids. This was in the first box My 1.5 yr old son opened. I swear this isn’t a joke and actually happened. She obviously is oblivious to what this means in the trucking world. I just shook my head and asked why lol.
