Having no clutch brake is a pain if you do not keep it in a gear, just select the gear you need before stopping, roll up on stops slower so sometimes the light changes and you do not have to stop. Any trouble getting it in gear when not rolling might have to stop engine. Bad clutch will make a bad transmission in time and those much more expensive than clutch, throw out bearing and the labor.

Unless you have an auto-adjusting clutch, they will have to adjust it. To get to the clutch brake, unless things have changed, they have to pull the trans and clutch to get to it, so they may as well put a new clutch in it while it's out.

Depends, but normally you can cut the old single piece brake out with a torch and then put a two piece brake back in.

Yup, that's the only way to do it that makes sense. I've seen bad drivers tear up a clutch brake quicker than hell, stop pushing the clutch to the floor when the trucks still rolling drivers!

I’ve always wondered why they don’t put two piece brakes in from the factory, especially considering all those who just will not (as you said) stop pushing the clutch to the floor when the trucks still rolling.

I had mine tweaked a while back that didn’t require any of that, thankfully.

So there is a chance I could do the work and still not ajust the clutch and just so people know it didn't work when I got the truck I learned to drive with a farmer that did his own repairs so dos and don'ts of the clutch were stressed over and over and over and over and over

If a one piece clutch brake, just cut it out with a torch. Install a two piece HD unit, it snaps right in, nothing has to be removed other than say an inspection plate to do the job. The clutch adjustment, if a manual adjust, takes two people to do it right. Auto adjust, that is another animal and not much one can do with those, at least the ones I am familiar with. I am not a mechanic.
