That's it. I never set my load searches below profitable on loaded miles alone.
If there were no loads at my set rate, I would say "There's no loads out there to haul"
Looking at anything lower than profitable would only make me angry, and thus - become a waste of time.Lite bug, MACK E-6, Old_n_gray and 8 others Thank this. -
Is that Giltner logistics out of Jerome,ID? Or a broker that goes by the same name as the trucking company.
blairandgretchen and gekko1323 Thank this. -
Yeah, a couple of days ago it lasted for about 25 miles after I passed Laramie. And it's been raining on and off here. A couple of hours ago my truck was swaying from the gusts here at the Loves. No way I'm crossing through Wyoming on I-80 empty with these gusts.Last edited: May 28, 2025

They do. Ive seen a few guys pull loads as low as $0.20 a mile for 500+ out of the denver area as well just because fuel money. Have a guy i knew who ran van and he would happily take those sub $1 loads all the time becase and i quote "it covers my fuel" he always ended up losing money on them by the time you factor in the multi hour load times.
Ah well thats why im glad im a dump truck. Even my worst loads are rarely under $1.75 a mile and most of those being a dump truck take 15 mins to load and even less to unload so are worth the hastle.broke down plumber, Lite bug, ElmerFudpucker and 4 others Thank this. -
You shouldn't be losing the 150 in fuel because you should have gotten more than that in your rate for the inbound load. If you're not factoring in these types of issues on your rate or you can't get enough on the rate to get you out to a better paying load than you are bleeding revenue. This can and most likely will cause your failure if you don't correct it.
