Another fiasco at the Fort Worth Del Monte as a couple of stacks of dog food fell due to unstable loading and the lack of pallets being used instead of wasting everyone's time with those #### cardboard slip sheets. Del Monte could save money if they just used pallets, quicker load/unload times, fewer wasted sacks of food that get skewered by forklifts. The little bit of product they couldn't ship due to pallet weight wouldn't matter. About 5 hours unloading time there. I wish we would just do an end around to the problem and leave a trailer at both ends so we could just drop and hook. Perhaps I will make that suggestion to the higher ups but until that happens I am just going to stop taking KC loads.
In better times now as I rolled out of GP this morning, got the truck washed, laundry done, food restocked and made it to my first stop for a morning delivery. Really glad to be back in my regular truck with the inverter and my now working fridge/freezer and microwave. Been battling the wind getting my grill fired up tonight but I think I got her going now. Steaks marinating and vegetables ready for steaming.
For anyone delivering at the Plainview, TX Walmart there should be available parking at the Shell station one exit before. Book said small lot but probably enough room for 12 trucks or so and only 4 were here when I arrived fairly late.

Hey Majestyk, you are spot on the Del Monte thing. I think the same thing should be done with that one. I've passed twice on that KC run because of that Backhaul taking so long. Glad you made it back and in your truck. What size inverter did you get put in? I've been wanting to know how well the inverters do in these units with the ClimaCool APU's. Also, where did you get the wiring kit they require to put it in? Amount of cost would be good to know as well??? I really need to get a fridge in here. I've had one for to long out here to go without. It's a required part of comfort I want and really miss out here now. Not to mention the amount of money it saves me. Thanks in advance for any information you can share to help me know what I need to do.
Anyone know where we usually Backhaul out of the Tifton,GA area? I got this three drop load that ends there. First stop here in McCalla,AL then Chamblee,GA and then Tifton. Just wondering what the rest of my week my look like. Thanks and take care out there! :)

I put in a 1000 watt inverter but I suppose my next one will be a 1500 watt. The 1000 seemed to run my dorm frig/freezer fine but I would go ahead and spend a little more for the 1500. I bought the wiring kit at a TS for 50.00 but you can get one at a harbor freight or like store for probably 20.00.
Can't help on the backhaul out of Tifton, I did that run but had two additional stops on it into NC. You can park on the side of the store in McCalla.

Thanks for all that info. Majestyk. I have a nice 1800 watt but I was told they wouldn't let us go above a 1500. I suppose I'll just buy a 1500 and the wiring kit. I wasn't sure if the wiring kit from the TS was good enough. Curious how well this Battery Pack APU will hold up on my breaks with a fridge plugged in all the time. Whole deal is going to cost me some $$$'s but I'm guessing I'll be in this unit for a least another year or so. I wish I could get one of the newer units that already have the inverters built in.
I wondered if there was a place to park at McCalla. I parked here at the J at the 104. I'm showing the store to be less than 2 miles away. Wish I'd known about that parking sooner. Thanks for all the info. and take care out there.

Oh ok. Maybe that's where they'll send me. Did your Backhaul's go directly back to Texas? I'm wanting to try and get back to GP for a load home this upcoming weekend. Thanks for the info. :)

If it's a regular compressor type fridge, you should do better then the thero-electric cooler/fridge. The compressor type only runs part of the time where the thermo-electric runs all the time.(I never thought about it, but another Crete driver told me about his 12v compressor type...says runs out of batteries with our system far less with it than when he had a 12v 40qt igloo cooler.) Not too sure about how Poly's battery system will do with one.
