I agree. Since he plans to only run 2,200 miles a week he'll have a lot more time to sit around than the rest of us. He would have lots of opportunity to type out some more insight on a lot of stuff we miss.

I've never had anyone here play mind games with me. In fact, just the opposite. They make it pretty clear what they expect and I almost never hear anything from them. My hire process was very similar to yours. However, I agree each hire is a case by case deal. Maybe Seawind has been misinformed by someone not happy with something. I wish him well BUT, I do get worked up when I read something like what he posted. I believe his comments would be better served if he worked here and that crap actually happened to him. Yet, I can tell by reading it he just threw some crap out there.

I know it's not always peaches and cream anywhere one has to work. There is good and bad with every place I've worked. Poly has been far and away a better experience for me than any other trucking job I've had. I'm sure there will always be people that it doesn't work for because somehow that's the way jobs are. Poly is NOT perfect...no ocean front property in Grand Prairie...but it's freaking very good for me. I run a 3,000 or more average most all the time. I get home more days than any other driving job I've had because I can get out here and run. Then go home and enjoy some days off. Work when it's time to work and take it easy when at home. I could go on and on but I'm sure those of you that work here already know what I'm saying. This job can work in different ways for various driver needs. Works best if you live close to one of the yards. However, it works quite well for many of us that don't. Sorry for typing a little long. Felt it was time to get some more perspective out there from someone that actually worked here. I look forward to reading all comments on here from everyone. Working here or not. Just trying to keep it real on here. Take care out there! :)

I'm sorry, but you've violated the LOR (length of rebuttal) rules. You're herby sentenced to return to Crete Carriers to serve your sentence.

the truth about poly hiring is they do not screw with people that apply but they do have there own way of things. They will not hire if you have ever had a dui or live in ca. They hire in 47 states but they don't always need drivers from al of them they need to have backhaul freight for when drivers go home when they have to many drivers in one state they do not hire any one till they need someone out of that state. When you apply they send out verification forms to your former employers until they get them back they don't do anything with your app that what takes the most time. Poly does their homework before they call you to interview anyone about a position. I got my info from the head of hr not from back chanels. Poly is not for everyone they are not perfect but I like working for them

Isn't that a bit harsh, Your Honor...it is my client's first offense. Couldn't we just have him serve community service and probation?(like wash Mr. You Know Who's car every day for a month(with an SOS pad))...we throw ourselves on the mercy of the court:biggrin_25514:

While no company is perfect, some companies are closer than others. But what is a good fit for one driver might be torture for another. I mean for me, what I want out of a company is, the best opportunity to provide for my family(we all have experienced the freight roller coaster), a safe piece of equipment, to be treated like a professional(which would garner professional treatment in return), and the ability to see home fairly close to when I ask to be there, freight allowing of course. Trucking sucks many times, but based on the majority of the participants on this thread, it sounds to me like Poly is the exception rather than the rule because they hit most of those expectations most of the time, and apologise for the times they don't (like when they pulled the late shift trying to find JD loads to get him home for the holidays late last year)

Has anyone heard from Chemster lately? The last post I can find was over on the Crete thread back in early April.

He's to busy working & spending time at home to come play with us. He said since it's the same week after week, & he has nothing new to add, he's lost interest in the thread. I guess youcouldsay that's a positive thing.

Oh my goodness, the judge has given me a life sentence. I plan to appeal to another judge. I hear he used to drive for Crete. In addition, he's never ruled in favor of back channel prosecutors. After all, I've already served some hard time at Crete. Made Trustee at the KC terminal once. Lol

To bad I never met you or Supersnackbar while I was serving my time at Crete. Enjoyed your comments! Take care out there! :)

The health insurance kicks in 120 days from your date of hire. Dental is a year from hire date. Hope that helps you. Take care out there!
