So I've heard from reading in this thread, they will respond to emails, but not calls. But it's been awhile since I saw that, so it might not still be the case.

    Worth a try, at least?

When you guys go from Henderson to the great northwest, how do you usually run, up US93 etc...etc...or out and around thru SLC and then up?

It may be either where you live, or you're previous employers not on the ball. I applied at noon on a Monday, by that Wednesday I had my phone interview, by that same Wednesday evening I was approved and working my way to Grand Prairie for my face to face interview, drug test/physical. I convinced my current employer(and soon they'll be my previous employer - Crete) that I had personal business in the DFW area, and even used Crete's truck to go to the face to face interview and drug test/physical. I've been at Crete almost 10 years...which made it easier for the mandatory DOT 10 yr background check to be completed. If one of your previous employers isn't getting on the stick...it could be holding things up.

I normally take 93. Normally not a bad route minus cell signal.. #### tmobile. Lol

Like mojo said. The exception being the winter months when they prefer you to go thru SLC all the way over to Portland, then up I5. But even then I keep close track of the weather because sometimes it's better to use 93 instead of the SLC route.

Well right now I have a Net10 prepaid, but it keeps decent signal...at least as good as my old Verizon smartphone...I will be getting a newer(or new to me) Verizon smart phone later. But it will have to wait...all these bad weeks, breakdowns etc. at Crete, then the transition to Poly will put us in a deep hole financially. Once I get thru orientation I am planning on hopefully getting thru the house really quick to pick up the stuff I couldn't bring on the plane...then be out for a while getting up to speed and trying to make the best start I can at my new home.

Do they give you a 'preferred route' or acceptable mileage when you get your load info, or just the where and when along with all the pertinent load info?

They just call you up on the back hauls with the basic info and you get the rest from the broker. About the same for outbound, number of stops, final destination and del times. They don't care how you get there as long as you get there on time with no more than 10% above the "normal" miles.

Finally broke out of the 100 degree heat places today for a nice afternoon in Ohio. About 75 or so and perfect weather to grill some pork chops.

11 month synopsis (full year ends September 27th). Will be running all of September until probably the first week of October when hopefully my new house loan closes. So 307.5 days on the road which was fairly similar to Crete but was able to take more consecutive days off which I like much better than 3-4 days at a time. Should finish up at around 132K miles for the year which is plenty enough for me and probably will be my high water mark as I plan on taking more time off in the coming years. So much less stress and more enjoyment this year than last.

    October: 9753 miles
    November: 9931
    December: 11118
    Jan: 13140
    Feb: 10287

    April: 11758
    May: 13986
    June: 9154
    July: 9729
    August: 10557
    --------------------
    119259 total

    57.5 days home time

    Length of haul
