Well I just posted like 3 paragraphs cover the last month and for some reason I see this "don't take it personally message" and a redirect. Thanks TruckerReport !
In Short much shorter in case this doesn't go through ! 8/18 to 9/17 when I get home will have pounded the pavement for about 10,150 miles. I will get home the 17th for 8 days. As I'll pound the pavement a bit more on the 19th up to Shaffer Lake IN for a nieces wedding.

I missed 6 days at G.P. waiting on the kidnappers to return my truck to me , PM , AC , Air leak , and a cracked tool box. Blessed I was , it wasn't an Engine rebuild ! If we look at the money we lose over 6days , the Ransom was somewhere near a grand , to git'r back. I do injections for Rheumatoid Arthritis and am pretty much hog tied to my refrigerator for that reason , I added that info in case some of you wonder why I don't take a loaner.
So , about Aug 27th I took a 2 stop , final KC MO. hurried back to get a university park IL for Tues after labor day and left out Fri evening prior to , an hr into my trip my daughter calls to inform me of a friends passing at age 54 , lucky for me I'm already on my way to see mom and dad on labor day , 8 days after their 61st wedding anniversary.
After University park delvry , I attended the wake in New Lenox , Wed. headed to BH a Mundelein IL to UPN. Left out of there Thursday at noon for an Upstate NY 2 stop final in Evans Mills NY , recvd BH info Fri in route to Sat delivery , made stop 2 on Sunday and laid over 11 miles from N.River NY in Indian Lake NY "THE ADIRONDICK" state park area. 0800 Monday was loading , and it delivered 0800 on Thursday in Deer Park TX at 1045 I was loaded in Houston at Shasta Bev. and delverd to Tyler at 0415 Friday . Left there at 0600 and dropped mty at 0800 in G.P. next load was ready , and at 1100 I rolled toward the house with a 2 stop OH for Monday and Tuesday , should be home around 1300 Tues. Even with losing 8 days of the 30 out I was still near 10.000 hub miles.
Hope everyone's Labor day was great , I didn't get the long run I was hoping for out of GP , before Labor day , but all things considered especially with my friend passing , I'd say someone was Guiding me in the right direction.

If you happen to have some long time down time you should look at some of the FL's for a loaner. I moved my frig/freezer to one and the APU works great. The FL are better than my Volvo in that regard in that it runs all the time while the Volvo is programmed to stop once moving.

This old FL pulls like a Clydesdale Hope she keeps running well as it looks like I will need at least another week for them to get at fixing the old Volvo. Decided to just take a slow stroll into Henderson instead of resetting. Kind of nice to sleep in and just log 300 miles a day for a couple of days.

No doubt the down time hurts. However the ability to recover & still have decent miles at the end of the month is something that could never be done over at that other fleet from NE. Enjoy the wedding!

 

10-4 JD it's hard to make up 8 days , in the remaining 22. in the event you do so , by the time you're heading home for a recharge it's very much needed. Since Wed the 3rd to the house on the 17th at noon should cap off about 6300 miles and 11 stops.

 

I second that! I have ran, errrr excuse me...I had ran many months w/o a day at home and not turned that many miles over at Happy Valley, NE...the more I read, the more I'm chomping at the bit to get started

 

The real nice part was the next 2 times I hit GP after spending 6 days there was , the in and outs , especially fri morn , in at 0800 out at 1100.

 

Man I just love when a plan comes together. Left out last Friday and rolled back to GP last night for over 4400 miles and 5 stops. I even managed to get a outbound load they loaded for me early to get home with for a restart and deliver on Tuesday. Yup Yup sitting at home relaxing:smt069 on my own couch, I love my job.

 

Well if any of you guys have need of a loaner truck 3267 now has 4 fresh batteries in it so you don't have to worry about those Stopped at the corner of US93/Alt93 for a short break and no love on a starting her back up. Out in the middle of nowhere with no phone service, no internet service but luckily a small RV/Hotel shop across the way where i was able to call Fleetnet. Oh well got her fixed and back at Henderson so everything worked out ok.
