Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

SS, it's almost always a given that delivering in the Midwest (except MI) you will get a backhaul going to, or in your case, back to MN. Hopefully you'll get a longer load out of Up North this time around.

Concerning fuel mileage: I let my old Freightliner idle during extreme cold. No one ever said anything. Stay warm.

As for me, I did pick up in Sumner, WA on Saturday morning going to......San Antonio! However, I'm only stopping by the house for a few hours before I attempt to deliver at midnight tonight.

 

I kinda figured they'd understand. Since Jerry, Pat and Tony all have been out here at one time or another, plus it seems that our office keeps up with the weather unlike the office at Happy Valley use to be so clueless in that area. I also kinda figured I'd be heading back up there...was just hoping that I would see some warmer states. I ended up working with a couple drivers helping about a half dozen drivers get un-stuck here at this Love's so I'd love to thaw out a bit...but hey, that is why we get the big bucks I guess...at least I was wearing my Poly uniform...gave us some good P/R

 

It feels weird live unloading at all these places where I use to drop/hook at when I was a Creten. It also feels weird walking around without my nose sticking together from the sub-zero temps. I never though 10 degrees would feel warm

 

I got my load info for my backhaul. I pickup at 5pm today in Indy, I deliver 6 am on Friday in Plymouth, MN. Other than the LaGrange to Waller, or Poltex...I do believe this is my 1st repeat customer on a backhaul. And if I remember right, these were some really decent people to deliver to at US Foodservice. Once I'm empty it's close enough to roll to Cottage Grove early enough to get my paperwork in...one of these days I'll be able to hold off dropping my paperwork early and take advantage of the extra stop pay, but I'm not quite there yet. Another 2600 mile week without working hard...and it looks like my January is shaping up to be a good month.

 

Pepsi in Indy...I could do without ever coming here again. Had a 1700 appt(along with several other drivers that checked in around the same time)...and guess who's the only one sitting here still...I am rapidly becoming a Coke fan...the taste of Pepsi will leave a drty taste in my mouth. I have never had good luck at a Pepsico.

On a brighter note...the city of Indy hadn't had time to plow the road into here, but even empty, my super singles did good. I am becoming more comfortable with them every day.

 

After my delivery in San Antonio I was sent to Pol-Tex to pickup a load for Cottage Grove MN. Currently in GP taking my break. Did almost 4,700 miles in ten days.

 

Anyone know if Costco in Collage Park, GA has overnight parking? Or the closest place nearby? On the satellite image it looked like they had a dirt lot to the left.

 

Real sweet load out of Minnesota heading back to Poly West for as fast as I can get it there. Should be there Saturday and then do a reset with a little time for some poker before gearing back up for the NW.

 

This morning before leaving GP on my continuation to Cottage Grove I stopped by the compliance window. I received a hardhat & orange safety vest. There are no new policies that came with the gear. It is for those customers who require such safety equipment.

 

Costco always has overnight parking, in my experience. I have never been to one that doesn't. The guard will direct you to the staging area.

The dirt lot is for Schneider only. You can also park on the side road in front of the place, as it has basically no traffic.
