I am wondering what is up with all the q/comm messages lately. Then today we get some sort of mileage test message. Honestly I'm hoping that they are getting set up to let the q/comm do the state line miles so all we have to do is keep track of our In/Out, fuel, and del/pu miles.
I called Outbound when I was at N.Vernon yesterday morning telling them I would be in Cottage Grove by noon. I was hoping to hear from them by their quitting time today, but I didn't get the call. Would be nice to follow Maj down to Henderson...that would be a boost to my already productive January.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

JD has already snagged one load heading that way. I would call them first thing in the morning and see if there is another load rolling out of that plant going to Poly West.
The J at Emporia was its usual cluster so I rolled on down about 15 miles to Strong City, KS on US50. Not a bad spot as I am picking up free wi-fi from the Subway. Going to try and get in a solid day tomorrow, perhaps try to make it over to the Indian Casino at exit 102 in NM to pick up some free play dollars as I have not been in that casino before. -
They did get my paperwork sent to Poly from Poltex in time...lesson learned. But I stopped to put 50 gal of fuel in the Road Ranger in WI to get me to Plymouth and back to UPN...but as my usual luck goes, the power "blipped" and the pump shut down at 47 gal...so I ended up gettin a 1/2 shower on my Peelot card. I use to hate Love's when we were at Crete...but now that I have the choice I love them...I get my Platnum shower there as fast as I can. That is the best program out there. As long as they keep that and Poly keeps this many Love's on our fuel list ..they get my business -
Turns out they missed my voicemail message about being ready today. But I spoke to an actual person this time...so I know I am on the board for sure. It won't kill me. Last weeks miles were in the 3100 and even with the bad weather in/around Indy, I'll still knock down a 2800 mile week this week. For January, 5900 miles by the 10th...not too shabby.

Silver lining to not getting on the outbound board right now...OSD. had a whole pallet put on my trailer that receiver didn't order or want. Now I'm going thru the procedure to get this pallet off my trailer. Had I been put on a load today, I might have had to wait until tomorrow to pick it up. Made me glad I have a smartphone again. Broker wanted pictures of product and a copy of the bills...thank you Crete for buying me the Camscanner app...made emailing it easier

This OSD may have actually helped. I was offered many choices including taking an empty to Eau Claire and picking up something going somewhere. A load that didn't pick up until Monday or the load I chose. Clearfield and SLC Utah M&P's. So I deliver Monday. From there I stand a chance on being routed to Poly West for a load. And Up North came through again. My load wasn't due to pick up until tomorrow but it was ready by 1600 today. So I managed to roll off 100 miles of it already. To quote Col. Hanibal Smith (from The 'A' Team) "I love it when a plan comes together"...(I know, I'm down to quoting fictional characters from the tv/movies...but I'm running out of real people to quote)

SS, what did you do with the extra PEPSICO product?

Nice 714.5 mile day. Made it over to Sky City Casino and picked up a whopping 6.25 in free money for my free play and beat a hasty retreat. No poker room and the Black Jack rules were atrocious so no need to come back to this joint for gambling. Was some decent live music though if you could handle the cigarette smoke.

The diesel I thought was just on my shoes wasn't just on my shoes. The UPN fuel pump ended up spraying on my pants bad enough to even get to my BVD's...so now I have a stinky pair of pants. And with diesel, I've found that the only thing that takes that smell out is gasoline...so I have them soaking in laundry detergent in one of the free Poly trash bags until I figure out what to do with them.Last edited: Jan 11, 2014
