SSB, did you get/feel any backlash when Poly contacted Crete? Pretty sure my next possible employer is gonna contact Crete this afternoon. Thx.

Probably passed me yesterday SSB. Delivered in SLC this morning and just picked up a load in Green River heading to Houston. Nice heavy load that should help across I-80

Not that I could tell. But my miles were already in the tank, and many in management were probably eager to see me leave. There was a rumor that if you had another company doing a background check that they would route you back to your home terminal and accept your background check as a resignation...that is what they did to ralph when he worked there, so I guess there is some truth to the rumor. But they didn't mess with me.

Now that is weird...they deadheaded me from SLC down to here yesterday...maybe the Green River loads weren't booked yet. The last problems I saw on the WYDOT website was around Elk. Everything else showed dry or dry and windy. Elk still showed no light trailers and snowing w/wind.. They might be short on loads out of here though. I was on today's board but was offered a choice of 2 for tomorrow. Headed to Blaine for Friday.

When I applied to Poly, my terminal manager at Crete called me and asked why I had applied for a new job. She already knew I wasn't happy about the situation at Crete, but still wanted me to tell her. She was understanding and wished me luck. She even called me about a year ago and asked if I wanted to come back to Crete. I told her if she could get me .48 per mile paid off the hub and bring back the load choice with 1200+ mile runs, I would come back... I'm still at Poly lol

Mine knew I was wanting to leave, I threatened to leave many times. I guess she figured that I had taken as much as I could handle. Besides, leaving when I did saved them some vacation pay. It would have gone up to 3 weeks on my next anniversary...but I couldn't hold out the extra 2 months to get it. But instead of being mad or upset, she was happy for me finding a better paying, less micromanaging company to work for.

Guess I should have taken the other load offered instead of the Blaine. Go to pick up...and they're waiting on product to put on my load. Oh well...can't win them all. There were many SLC loads in the tray. I didn't peek at the customer, is it a Sam's we ship that much product to up there?

Mine to SLC was Costco. Really no problems across Wyoming yesterday just a couple of bad stretches along US287 from Laramie to Loveland down the back way. Looking good to get this load knocked off tomorrow noonish in Houston and hoping for a GP transfer load as I already put myself on the Friday outbound board.

I looked at the Poly website , they appear to be a small company.

Whats the scoop on this outfit, many here keep mentioning them.

Do they hire drivers out of Ga ?

Poly Trucking is around 300 drivers. While we are a trucking company, we are not like other trucking companies. We are the transportation leg of Poly America, a major manufacturer. As for them hiring out of GA, it depends if they have an opening in that area, and only talking to the recruiting department would get you that info
