Even though they were running late getting my load loaded, I still managed to make it to Mountain Home before shutting down. I may be able to make it to the delivery by tomorrow night. Sure feels better this trip up here. Last time it was below zero and windy.

Sucks to be me. Arrived at Poly West Tuesday night and wont be leaving till Friday. Outbound said they would call tomorrow with load offers for Friday.

On a better note, I'm staying the night at the Fiesta Casino/Hotel. Don't know what the weekend rate is but tonight I'm staying for $36 all in. Nice room with flat screen TV, free internet (but I'm tethered to my phone), and the beds seem much nicer than the previous free hotel we used (Hacienda). The negative is that there is no fridge or microwave. There's a Mexican Restaurant, a buffet, a steakhouse, and a mexican cafe that offer served dining. There's a food court with a pizzaria, a Subway, and a hamburger stand. Next to the food court is a Regal 12 Cinema theater. Ample truck parking, with or without a trailer. So I think I've found my hotel of choice in Henderson when on a layover.

There are 26 pages full of information. Most any question you can ask has probably been answered.

    Mev Thanks this.

There is only one problem with staying at a hotel/casino...the slot machines calling my name and sucking the dollar bills out of my wallet. I don't have a gambling problem...I have a winning problem.:biggrin_2554:. I think I saw the Fiesta on my way out today. I saw all the trucks on the one side and wondered if it was for real...thx

I may be in a similar boat for freight tomorrow. They wanted me to deliver on Friday...but late morning, so that may limit what loads are available until Monday. I hope backhaul calls early today so I know. If it's going to be Monday before I pick up, there'll be no reason to push hard and sleep at the customer today just to end up sitting until Monday. Since there is limited parking up here, I'd rather they sent me back east to pick up...but backhauls are like family...you get what you get, you can't pick 'em

This thread on this forum are the 26 pages I'm referring to.

However, poly-trucking.com is the only place to get an application. It is the PDF file you referred to. You must download and print that PDF, then fax it or mail it in.

On a better note, outbound called earlier with one load offer going to Blaine,WA and it's already loaded. So I will leave today and deliver Saturday.

Greetings, Polyites. Hoping the new year is finding you well and busy. Still is for me at Crete, partly because I still have my Cascadia!

On another note, I ran into one of your co-workers yesterday. I'll refrain from saying where or giving his truck number, but suffice to say he wasn't happy. In fact, he was making calls to other companies while getting unloaded. But there's more to it.

First off, this driver just didn't look like the type Poly would bring on board. He had a Poly shirt on, but sported athletic-type shorts and untied tennis shoes..just didn't fit the bill, and certainly didn't present a favorable image. Said he started three months ago, and had just come off his first home time, that being only four days. Then he was 90 minutes late delivering the load because apparently he left his house too late. He also stated he was on his fourth truck in just three months (can't blame him for being discontent there).

Didn't sound like Poly would suffer a huge loss if this guy bails.

    Stay safe and sound!

Wow...wanted to give up after 4 trucks in 3 months....I think I had gone thru 4 trucks in one month at one point. Although had it not been for my fellow Creten transfer drivers playing the part of a support staff and a gift of listening to general conversations in the drivers room...I would have been making phone calls myself...lord knows I was close.

Knocked off the load in Houston and just picked up a little east in La Porte. Delivering tomorrow in Gainesville just north of FW and then picking up a load heading back westward to Loveland for Monday. Needed to even out my hours a bit so was a good load for doing that and it has a back haul already attached returning to Houston so should keep me out of the frigid areas for a bit longer.
