So....no inter axle lock? Glad I wasn't in one of those trucks this morning rolling across 84 in CT. This sounds like something Crete might do. No excuse in this day and age for a company with a large and varied running area not to put it on a twin screw truck, IMHO. Sorry to see the Poly brass go this direction.

I'm kinda with ya...except I wouldn't drive a camera truck...period. someone said that when you flip the diff lock, it locks both tires on the drive axle in and lowers the air pressure some on the tag...but I spoke to drivers that had just moved from CFI to Crete who said they had gotten stuck on a fuel island with that set up.

As long as the camera is only activated "for cause", if you will, I don't have a tremendous issue with it...but there are still questions. More I hear about all this new technology, the stronger my desire to exit the industry. I'm just really disappointed that Poly went this route on the axles.

My husband was offered the job! We're going to discuss it further when he gets home, and then he's calling them back on Friday to let them know our answer. I don't like him going back OTR....I just don't know. How likely would a schedule of 2 weeks out, 3 days home, be? Obviously it will change a bit depending on his loads, but is it doable, and at what cost to the income potential?

I cant answer the questions, but I wish him well. The income should not be an issue once he gets accustomed to the way Poly does things, aka the learning curve. Congrats!

Okay Poly guys, here's another question. How often are you at Grand Prairie and for how long? If we move to TX, which is the plan, would the kids and I be able to pick him up for lunch/dinner when he's there but not taking time off? Thanks!

Poly only bought a limited number of these. Perhaps when they start paying for towing more often...they'll change their tune.

Grand Prairie is home base. Most of the time(unless he runs way out to the NW) he would be back within a week. Poly is a boomerang company...you go out delivering our product, do a u-turn(sometimes a 500 mile u-turn) pick up a return backhaul of some kind, and come back to TX...there are times, like what I am on now, that you don't get right back to GP. You end up going through one of our other 2 plants then to points unknown...but eventually you end up back in the DFW area. Time off is up to the driver...as long as they turn 8000/month, they can take what ever time off they want...but only on/after an outbound load. Or in your case if you lived in the DFW area...after his return load was delivered.

I'm sending in my application in the next couple of days too, and this is my worry with Roehl, too. I've been with them for two and a half years, and have a perfect driving record. I'm hoping they won't take it personally that I want to move on, but Poly just sounds like a better fit for me. All the people at Roehl have been very nice, and the equipment has been amazing - I've broken in three brand new trucks.

Roehl has been a GREAT place to get trained and get my feet wet. They have been good to me, and I feel like I've been good to them. It's just that I'd like to make more money (gross pay for last year was about $45K), and I would love to have some say as to where I go. Driving in the northeast is getting old.
