$45k??? Holy molie...I was hurt 10 years ago, took 2 months off to learn how to walk with 1 less muscle in my leg and still grossed $57k(at Crete no less). I don't think I can remember the last time I grossed that...if that's the best they can do, it's a wonder they don't loose drivers faster than CR England or Stevens.

Two weeks out then home is going to depend on where you live. Moving to the DFW area would be the best decision to accomplish this. Living in the DFW area would be a huge benefit to your family with this job. Doing so would give your family the best of both worlds. Plenty of miles and home time. You have my utmost encouragement to move to the DFW area.

Thanks, JD. He doesn't get home until 10:30 tonight, as we'll take all day tomorrow doing research and figuring everything out, but it looks like we're leaning towards Poly and moving to TX within the next few months! :)

Yeah, the pay is pretty low, but I think they are mainly geared toward new drivers. I was a new driver when I came here. They trained me, and other than the low pay and the forced dispatch, which I don't like, they have been very good to work for. All the people have been very nice.

When I read the Poly thread though, I decided that it was time to check them out. I'm really hoping they will hire me. I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, so I'm close to Poly Terminal there. Maybe that will help.

In earlier posts it was mentioned that a form asking if you would chain up was handed out. Do you suppose that these trucks are intended for those that won't chain and will be limited to running the south?

If you guys have a fridge in your truck, what size? Trying to figure out what to get for my husband's truck. Thanks! :)

Until he gets a new truck I would wait on buying a small refrigerator & just use the plugin type cooler. That's what I still use.

Have not heard any talk about limiting the running area of the new trucks. I don't think management would order trucks they intend to limit.

I doubt it...where you go is entirely up to the driver when the Outbound department calls. Some drivers love going where chains may be needed...others avoid it like the plague.

Well, I'm headed into the deep freeze again. Enroute to my Brazil delivery(tomorrow) backhaul calls with an Indy to Burnsville, MN load...then roll back to Cottage Grove..once I got done with the broker...I speed dialed Outbound for a Monday load out of the frozen tundra of MN..it is so nice to know what you're doing on the next load a day or more before you deliver...one more reason I am joining JD's "I love my job" club.

As for a fridge...I haven't bought anything more than a normal thermoelectric cooler yet. I haven't even bought a big inverter yet. There is talk that these "ClimaCab" equipped trucks are being delegated to be loaner trucks, so I am in "wait and see" mode for the immediate future.
