The Prostars have always been heavier than Freightliners. The only reason I picked the DEF was for the most part, that's the only real difference between those Cummins powered Prostars and mine.(I have the ClimaCab not the International system the new trucks have, but still have 8 batteries and a fuel fired bunk heater). Other than that, a few more cabinets and a bit fancier seat on the passenger side are the only real differences I see that would have any bearing on the weight of the truck. I don't know why they'd be so much heavier

Wow has this thread gone silent. I hope it's because everyone is so darn busy they don't have time to post. I've tried to stir up some trouble, but it only lasted a couple days :biggrin_255:

Nothing new to report. Pickup, deliver, get paid, repeat.

I personally had a great January, but Feb. will be slow as I'm taking some time off in SLC with family to visit the in-laws.

You do complain a little bit. However, I believe it's ok to vent from time to time. As a driver we are all under lots of demanding issues with this type of work. Quite frankly you do sound a little burnt out on some of your posts. Hopefully things get better for you. As for some of your vents here are some of my thoughts. Maybe you should look into some of those other trucking companies you mentioned. Poly isn't a good fit for everyone. As for some of us it kicks butt compared to some places we've worked. You will find many Pros and Cons to any trucking job. If you focus on just the good stuff then you think it's good and if focused on bad then it's bad. Got to weigh both sides and go with what best fits you and your needs. As for the truck weight thing. If you knew the answer then why did you ask the question? You say SSB is wrong and give a weak argument by comparing apples to oranges. Just sayin...what is that about? Lastly, if you're running to many miles then change what you're signing up for from Outbound. Not hard to get loads with less miles. There are plenty of them most every time I hear offers. Ok, I guess that's enough counter vents for now. As I mentioned...hope things get better for you. Take care out there!

Shoot, if it weren't for the ability to post vents here, where would that leave my alter-ego...you know the guy...the supersnackbar that always BMW'd about everything. (I haven't showed that side of me a lot lately). Over on the 1st Crete YIR thread some of my more entertaining posts were me venting and going nutzo on the management of Crete. It also seemed that the threads were more active when I was a bit more moody and vent prone. So vent away...it relieves stress and gives a acurate picture of whats going on. If things were all peaches and cream, people coming here to read about what it's like working here wouldn't believe it.

As for me...as expected I am headed back to MN. I'm doing the same run I did last weekend. Once I get empty in N. Vernon I come up to Indy to pick up going to Burnsville, MN. But, I don't know the appointment times. I called the broker to get the info, and I get his voicemail...so I take the "hit 0 for immediate assistance" option. I get a human answering, who puts me on hold, and sends me right back to the origional guys voicemail again....Was hoping to make sure the load delivers Friday and gona get on Fridays outbound out of UPN(on a Tuesday) but didn't want to jump the gun until I knew that I was delivering on Friday for sure.

Add these miles to the load I turned in (mostly to get my logs turned in within the legal time) I will have over 5200 miles and 6 stops on this paycheck...not bad running for Feb.

I need to bust my buttocks as hard as I can. Since my FIL passed, my MIL is living with us...and we have no room.(hard to believe we raised 2 kids in the very same house that now has just enough room for my wife and I) So she is helping to finance an addition to our home. Once I get back, I've got to put on an additon adding almost 750 square feet to casa de Snackbar...all during the next time I take hometime...

Sitting here in N.Vernon I noticed a NEW Crete Prostar...the reason I know it's new...it has no "Maxxfarce" badge on the hood, it's got the same new style louver grill on the no-idle side-box as our new ones, and it has the set back fuel tanks like ours. The only difference between their trucks and ours is theirs is a double bunk condo, no sliding 5th wheel and a chain rack instead of a tool box. Oh, and dual tires, quarter fenders and it appears to be a shorter wheelbase because there is almost no room between the quarter fender, chain rack and the shirt mounting frame to hang iron...I don't think their truck has enough room to put a tool box like ours...I thought they were going all Freightliner...or maybe that was just for solo drivers, they're giving the trainers the PS's. Oh well, since this is a Poly thread, not a Crete...back to you're regularly scheduled program.

Always. Not in Cali, NE, MT, western TX and south of I-4 in FL the last time I looked at a trucking job magazine. Put a - between poly and trucking add a dotcom and that is their website. Or wait for a Poly truck to go by(or just b4 you go by a Poly truck) and their number is on the back of the trailer

Well I get a little break. Finally got in touch with the broker. Load out of Indy doesn't pu until after 2 am tonight, but it's a drop and hook. So I dropped my trailer and bobtailed to a truckstop. It delivers at 1230 pm on Friday, still enough time I don't have to rush and I can get my paperwork turned in before they Fudex it to GP...and as soon as I heard from him...Outbound got a call. Working here puts a whole new spin on my view of trucking. Maybe things don't always work out like you hope...but the minor delays and hiccups here are still better than most other company's good times.
