Lil rob, so what was the answer I knew when I asked the question? You need to get your reading comprehension checked before you start giving career advice. This is the best gig I've ever had but I'm always looking for better. I think we all should. I think wal mart is the only other place I'd like to go to. And I assumed we all had perfect records. It's just a forum around 10 of us that work here post on. So why not bring up other topics and stuff we deal with? And when outbound gives you a choice between nothing and something you take the something. And in my case something was 1400 plus miles away from home.

My reading comprehension is just fine. In addition, I wasn't trying to give you career advice in the way you mention. I made some open statements about some things in response to some of your Posts. You make comments like "many of us are lucky to be here" and "Poly is lucky to have you". I'm sure they are lucky to have all of us. I read where you said you liked the gig. Just like I read how Walmart pays better and so on...which isn't true in a lot of places driving for Walmart by the way! I'm glad you keep your options open and look for better. I would agree that is always wise of anyone in this business. Trucking years can be like dog years and we aren't getting any younger. I don't remember mentioning anyone's record being good or bad. I'm guessing most here have to be pretty good or they wouldn't be driving here. I also didn't type anything about you bringing up other topics of discussion. I believe that's a lot of what this forum should be used for. I even enjoyed reading your vents. I feel those of us that drive for Poly are kind of on the same team and My comments weren't meant to put you on the defensive. You did kind of ask why the new trucks were so heavy and kind of shot SSB down when he gave a couple of suggestions. Your argument using a Freightliner with DEF is weak given the fact that those trucks are known to be a lot more lite than the Internationals anyway. I had to guess you had the answer since you shot him down so sternly. Maybe you didn't mean it to sound that way. Thus, I asked you the question... What is that about? Maybe you don't have the answer. I'm sure with some research and reading you could find something on it. Lastly, BackHaul is what it is here. We don't get to choose those like we do Outbound loads. Sometimes they throw us a curve ball and our miles change what we thought they might be. I made some open suggestions to you. I'm not your advisor and don't want to be. Sorry if my comments sounded that way. In addition I have a lot of cheese if you want to whine. It's all good on my end towards you. After all...I don't know you. To my knowledge we've never met. I do wish you well as I do with most everyone I message with. Take care out there! :)

Is that true about Walmart? I've only talked to the Texas drivers. And they never talk pay on the forum.

There are several things that factor in on the Walmart positions. Pay depends on several things like what area of the country you work for them. Depends on what type of driving position it is. What type of schedule you're on and so on. I'm in no way trying to say Walmart is a bad gig but there are tons of factors involved with getting the position you want in the area you want to work in. They have many pay scales and many different types of driving positions. They have hourly driving stuff, rotating shift driving stuff, local driving and regional driving and so on. They do have positions that pay really well with all the benefits and so on. There are many rules for working there as well. Many of us have done Crete's version of driving for them. I'll just say there are many Pros and Cons to it. If you're seriously keeping your options open then dig into Walmart some time. Then you'll see what I'm saying. Once again, I'm not trying to say it's a bad gig. I'm just saying there is a lot more to it than what you normally hear on the surface of general conversation about it.

Walmart is very strick almost like the military. They have very low tolerance so I would recommend you have a "Toe the Line" patients and being a "Yes Man" is also in your favor.

On their driving test I was told they dont want you to shift while making a turn. Thought that was weird.

I got mine today. I'll be in UPN tomorrow. He had a decent list for Feb. He had Mass, MI, UT, MT/WA and a Buford, GA that wasn't suppose to be ready until Sunday...but with UPN, it most likely be ready tomorrow or early Saturday. Guess where I'm going...Billings, Butte and Seattle. All M&P's.
