Just had the crap scared out of me by my phone. Sitting here at the Love's in Biloxi...Was paroozing the weather app trying to figure the best time to go get my Subway...when the NWS alert message goes off...I didn't even remember this thing had one. I had heard that the latest update had to put it in as/per orders from the government...but I had never had one go off before. The bad thing is...you can uncheck every alert except Presidential.

I've noticed the same thing. It seems the T680 is a very popular truck right now.

I am a bit in fear for my life...let's see...the shop put a new turbo on my truck...it came lose. They replaced/serviced the DPF...and forgot to tighten the exhaust clamps on the inlet pipe...the oil filler cap came up missing yesterday (they serviced it when they did the DPF, and I haven't had to add oil)....the part that makes me fear for my life is...they put steer tires on it too :biggrin_2551:...to take a page from a Ron White bit...I hope they weren't absent on "lug nut" day.

has anyone else ever had a problem with a poly trailer with low landing gear? i had a 2400 and between the pickup and delivery it was not fun, even slid tandems and fth wheel up, at one point i lookd in my mirror pulling out of the pilot and thought the landing gear was down, didnt help that the pick up and delivery had humps to get over, at the delivery everyone else was scraping theirs but i plain got stuck, anywhere else prob not a big deal but not the place i wanna go with that trl

I've had some low looking ones. They're the ones with the solid leg braces instead of the angle iron ones. But I've never had them low enough to drag. My truck every once in a while will have the dump valve solenoid hang and not inflate my airbags all the way right away..does your trucks air ride look right?

It'll probably happen AS I am passing a Crete...then he'll have a whopper of a tail to tell too...but that would be sad...for him...to get past by just a speeding steer tire.

Headed to Poltex to pu going to GP. Today is day 8 since I left the yard last, and my Garmin nag-a-gator says 3550 miles...plus I had 6 or 7 paid stops on this check. Who says truckin aint fun...it is if you're rollin...rollin...rollin...

Honestly, I think we must be slammed with freight. In an attempt to make up for some excessive time off (according to my standards) I planned on staying out a little longer this tour...in fact, I may have to dig out March's logbook to see when I was home last. But I planned on being home for Mothers Day...but every time I remind outbound of my desire to head towards home for a little break...you can hear their voice tense up a bit when they ask "how long are you going to be home", not their usual calm and casual tone.

I am going to start judging my need for home by the depth of the dent my sunglasses put in my overgrown mop of hair. If you've met me, you might agree that there are few people that have shorter hair than me, at least right after I leave home..I hate having long hair...I just don't look right...so when the dent from my sunglasses gets over a inch deep...to quote the Oz-man himself."mama I'm comin home"

Been running hard. Was able to unload my treetop load late last night instead of waiting for my morning appointment and I guess that turned out ok as I was heading back to the yard a piece of the metal bracket holding the alternator to the frame decided to break. That ain't exactly an optimal situation to be in:) I managed to coax her back to the yard the last 6-7 miles and was able to switch over to a loaner there. Perhaps for the best as I am going to be able to get some additional work done away from the home shop (a/c not cooling when idling, radiator fan not working properly and a couple of smaller things). All in all made for a really long day yesterday and just about as my head hit the pillow around 0700 I get a call from OB requesting help on a local delivery. I manned up and knocked that out and then just came on back and hooked to the SLC load and managed to make her up here without falling asleep at the wheel.

Picking up tomorrow in Green River, WY and rolling to Houston for a Monday delivery. Going to request another return trip to PW to pick up my regular truck next week. So in a nut shell busting ### on some really good miles and I am currently sitting on about 12 extra drops and counting.
