Red. It's the one out of Morton, IL. Happened awhile back. Kind of quietly. They were a major hiring company out of the driving school I went to in IL.

Anyone ever pick up at the KY/TN CLay place in Gleason, TN and if so do you have any suggestions on an adequate parking space nearby for the night, thanks.

It's been awhile, and I've only done it once, but I think they may allow overnight parking. Did you call them?

Well, it's another one of those box of chocolate back haul. Emptied in Astoria,OR, a tourist community on NW OR coastline, and someplace I want to revisit with the wife. There's a very large paddle boat I want to ride on. But I digress. I load grass seed tomorrow from four different farms, three here in OR and the last pick up in ID going to..........Ashland,WI. It's located on Lake Superior. Should make for a scenic drive across MN and WI. My projected delivery is 1500 this Friday. Hope they can get me a back haul to TX or deadhead back to UpNorth and get a transfer to GP. Need to be home on the 27th for a doctor's visit and to celebrate the big 50!

Yeah I gave them a call and according to the woman that answered they close the gates at night. Will just play it by ear I suppose and hope to find some nook to ease in to until the morning.

A good decision so far to roll on toward the plant. Right before you turn to go to plant there is enough room to park on the left side of the road. Don't anticipate any problems with that as it is fairly far out in the podunks.

I've delivered at that small place in Astoria. Quite the little place. I drove in there at night and even parked in there for the night. Just enough room to park by the portable ramp you backed up to. Some dude lives in that little camper there. I was going to fire my little grill up but he had his going already and let me cook on his. Very cool place around there. I would love to go there with my wife some day. The southern route I took out of there going back to Portland was a lot easier than all those hills coming out of Longview. My BackHaul out of there was grass seed as well. However, I got lucky to get all my load at one place. They were slow loading but glad it was just one pick-up. Place I went to was called Pick Seed in Tangent, OR. Place is down by Albany, OR. Easy place to get into. Good luck with your load. :)

I agree about the nice people. It wasn't till I got stopped for the night that I looked at the atlas and realized I should have taken the southern route (Hwy 26) to get back through Portland. Oh well. Just glad I was empty.

It just gripes me to no end to have to spend truck stop prices on laundry since I have found that cheap place near the yard. If that big arse laundromat can make enough money to keep the doors open (and not charge to dry your clothes) why does a mega-chain truck stop have to charge $2.25 for each load...I would do a #ripoff...but I don't know how to do hash tag links.
