Had a very interesting pick up for my backhaul today. It was in the caves in NW Pennsylvania. When I turned on the street to go to my pick up, all I seen was trees and hills. I stopped and called to make sure I was at the right location. She said yes, we are in the caves. I'd been in the ones in SW Missouri, but this place is huge. They were very quick loading and the load is light. Going to drop it off Thursday afternoon and I'm on the board for Friday.

Made it over to my stop here in Dallas. Hoping to get unloaded quick in the morning. Picking up a load after that heading to NC for Friday morning and then taking a few days off at home. Loaner 3366 did a fine job for this short trip out and back although I think it has a small air leak. Going to write her up tomorrow but beyond that ran well.

My mood couldn't be lower...well, it could, but it would take being forced to go back to Crete.

While sitting here at Gatorade in Indy getting loaded, I got a generic notification alert...which is odd since I have custom tones on almost everything...Verizon didn't sneak the download for the new 'un-tetherable' software in overnight (like they normally do) it did it when I was backing in and had the phone screen blacked out and in my pocket...so now I have to pull the SIM card and reactivate my s3 and put this thing in a closet with the battery pulled until I find some free WiFi to root it and zap the file....curse you Verizon!!!!!

Gotta love it, eh? Government says "if you charge per-use, you can't charge extra for tethering, since you're already charging for data used..." so they skirt around the issue and try to keep you from tethering altogether. What they don't realize is that will probably result in another lawsuit.

Ok...so I am back on my S3 and the Note 3 is in standby... I forgot how tiny this thing is...

Outbound called, all they have out of UPN tomorrow is a multi-stop M&P to MI...but, Gatorade was their usual speedy selves today and it will take me 1/2 my hours tomorrow to deliver and get to UPN, so we held off on putting me on it.

Excellent post SS.. I'm always looking for something better out here and just refuse to make less per mile and run more miles for the same/less pay than I'm making now.. Poly is out for me, I just have a dislike for perdiem in my tax situation.

Dry van pays crap at most places OTR..no interest in tanker / flatbed / local work..I loaded weapons for 10 years in the military and abused my body enough back then, I need a break to let my body recover. I'm into the smarter not harder mentality now.

Always like a company or 2 on the table in case I need/want to make a change where I'm at. sleep apnea or nanny cam will see my hasty departure !!

I enjoy speaking with longtime Crete drivers who saw what is was like when things were better over here, I have the utmost respect for those old-timers as I call em..they were the Crem De La Crem in my book.

It's good to see you guys have found another good company to work for that fits the bill, unfortunately it doesn't meet my needs.

When I turn in my paperwork in Cottage Grove later today, it will put me in the mid 8000's on the 22nd with a week at home(yes I carried some over from April). Outbound has me a 1 drop M&P to Michigan...honestly I can't remember the name of the town, but he said it was in the mid 600's so if I hustle next week and get back to GP by Saturday, it could be a 10-11,000 mile month...with time off.

T'was nice and cool up here in MN this morning, it's almost noon and only 60 degrees...which is better than home. They're calling for near record highs around there this week...

    *edit*

The name of the town I am headed to is Manistee in western Michigan. The customer is Dr. Shrink...when I saw the name the 1st thing I thought of is Mr. Skin...They accept loads until 4 pm so I'll get it delivered. It won't get paid on this weeks miles, but it'll put me in the 9000's for the week.
