PMs are done on the weekend. How quick they get to your truck depends on how many in front of you. Weekend shop hours are first shift only. I think that's from 0600-1430.

Ok.....am I dying....why is everyone being so nice to me. I was granted a 900 diff. I got another decent load to MN. When I msg Tommy about extending or servicing my truck, it turns out Tommy is in Pol-tex right now, so Mike Hyatt called me. And we had a very professional cordial discussion, and my miles were extended...plus he contacted the outbound department asking them to work on routing me back next week so they can work on my truck...winner winner chicken dinner!

They said they will get it done tomorrow. Doesn't matter too much since I have a Monday morning load. Heading up to Lansing, MI

It appears the safety hawks at the FMCSA just reloaded. Read a story about how the blame for that Walmart driver's wreck in New Jersey last week is moving towards the hours he worked...and the story claimed he was within minutes of being over on his 14, and that the push may be on to reduce our total allowable work hours. I guess they are going to ignore the obvious stuff like...the fool didn't rest during his off duty time...or the OnGuard failed. (They say his truck had collision avoidance equipment, but it was off or malfunctioning)

just had a driver friend i worked local with yrs back have a seizure and went into the guardrail in nj, ended up in hospital and found he has a tumor on his brain, its humbling. i also worked with a driver who hadnt had an accident in 40 yrs and sideswiped a car on the shoulder, couldv killed them but he was lucky and also old enough to retire. scary stuff thats all i know.

Liking that Bloomington load mysellf now. Had never done it until early this month and took it again last trip. Don't know if you have parked there but the street right past the Sam's (turn left, west of sams) has some good parking in what seems to be an empty warehouse building (back SE corner of first lot after turning on street). I have parked there the last two times with no problems.

Decided to just go ahead and make it to SLC in two days and do a reset on Sunday. In the neighborhood of 3600 miles in 6 days after tomorrow. Drove through some hellacious storms in Nebraska this afternoon. Nearly got blown into a Nebraska cornfield by some really strong winds gusts. Glad I was loaded heavy or it might not have ended pretty.

Read an article in OverDrive magazine about the NJ Wal-Mart accident. Investigators concluded the Wal-Mart driver was within his HOS but was speeding (65 in a45).

I've been through there many times in the last few months and it amazes me how there are cars going over 70mph and many wrecks. But one truck accident then they want to discuss speeds of one truck. It's a tragic accident unfortunately when you have millions of vehicles ypur going to have accidents. But to try to blame the entire trucking world on the stupidity of one driver choosing not get some sleep on off time is like taking all cars away because one person got a DWI. Just my two cents.

Watch out, killet bees in TX (and I'm not talking about the comedian). Or at least a very aggressive strain of honey bee that attacks people for no reason. Was on my way back from the Carl's jr at the Hutchins Love's when the driver of the bobtail next to me wanted to chat a bit. So, being me, I didn't pass up a chance to run my mouth. About 5 or 10 minutes later something hit me right between the eyes like a bullet, then after I swiped it away, it started attacking the other guys truck's windshield, and it felt like someone jabbed a needle in my face...we parted and the freekin' thing swarmed me. All the way back to my truck I was swatting and swiping...as I was getting in, it hit my chest, so I backhanded it into my vent window and it fell in my sunglasses case and sat there twitching. I covered it with tape and it died...looks just like a regular honey bee, stinger still attached. I broke out the windex(ammonia) and applied some to the place where it nailed me just in case...lord knows I don't have the prettiest face as it is, I sure don't need the bridge of my nose swelling so I look like the elephant man to boot.
