usually you do the 50 question speed test (that nobody finishes), then the face-to-face then the physical and pee test.

I was just going by what Rachel told me over the phone. Either way, I'm good. Just glad to be headed to what sounds like greener pastures. I just left Roehl. If Poly doesn't come through I'm headed back to Flatbed. :)

The job is awesome. Just remember to save money for breakdown situations.

Returned to Sioux Falls yesterday afternoon to pick up the truck after my rental car drive to home and back. I load tomorrow in Omaha going to Lewisville, TX for a Friday 2000 delivery. On outbound board for Saturday.

Physical , drug test , IQ test , and chat .

It weirded me out too , I'm just a nobody , and they treated me special.

i even called her back to make sure there wasn't a mix up with me and an executive .

The orientation was cool also , I basically sat one on one with a fellow in his office going over procedures and watching some DVDs .

Poly is definitely unusual , it's rare that they hire .

    Monster month ...
Should finish 14,200 maybe 14,300 miles since 5/29 to 7/1. 1 34 hr restart , then decided to just roll on hrs picked up at midnight last 2 weeks , it seemed each day was at least 9.5 hrs so what the heck. Hope everyone's 4th is good , I'm gonna hopefully get in to the barn "GP" on Friday , delver load and hit the shop for a PM with any luck I'll be able to roll toward home Saturday for the holiday and not return for I'm thinking 2 weeks. For those of you that like to blow off fireworks , it works best if they don't explode in your hand , be safe y'all !

At Poly, you're not a nobody. You are a name not a number (once they see your face and hear your voice after a few months). Here you are a member of a team, and it is a team where even the people in the office are on the same side as the drivers when it comes to customer service...well, except the shop...they are in their own little world over there.

Mev, Triumph and jdrentzjr Thank this.

sounds to me like you need to stop by Office Max and buy a big pack of legal size note pads....you've kicked arse...now all you have to do is take names, and with a month like that, that's a lot of names to take.:yes2557:

Outbound called for Thursdays loads...and I did something I very seldom do...passed on his offerings. It was 2 multi-stop loads to PA. I have been trying to go an entire year here without going into the mayhem capital of the world, and I especially don't want to go there just before a major Friday holiday. Since leaving home 10 days ago, I am pushing 5000 miles, so it's not like I am slacking off. We'll see. Truck is overdue for service, and for the 1st time in 3 service cycles, I've got an issue developing, so I'll be in a loaner once I get back. Since the last 3 or so nights have been cool enough to shut the truck off and let the ClimaCab do it's thing, my air pressure drops to 0 on both systems. Then when it builds again, the primary hits 90 and sits there, and the secondary stays at 0...you have to pump the brakes a few times hard to get it to build right. I can't hear any leak, so it may be the compressor or the governor. Either way, a lengthy repair for Larry, Curly and Moe.

    *correction*
I must have mis-added, I am in the mid 4000's since leaving home last week, not 5000. I gota get back to my regular routine with days off...this taking a week off is throwing me off completely.

Geez, what a trip. Truck breaks down in middle of nowhere SD, takes a week for repairs, back haul books an unproductive load, then when I do show up to the shipper they reject the trailer because it has cobwebs in the sidewalls (food grade Kelloggs). Now more wait time while back haul finds an other load. Can't complain since this is the first very unproductive week+ I've incurred in 2.5 years. Always hoped it wouldn't happen to me, but knew it was always possible & is why I've tried to set money aside for just such an occasion.

Yes,I still love my job. I've had bad weeks at other companies & as an O/O.
