In the LCD screen it usually says 'engine warn'. Watch your oil pressure. If it get down to 20 psi, it'll warn you...then shut down the engine. Some of Poly's trucks plug the oil filter by 10,000 miles after a service. You might have one of those trucks...usually comes with a spare oil filter under the bunk. Mine gave me that the other day 2 or 3 times but never shut down...my oil pressure would drop to just above 20 on a long climb but bounce back if I eased up a bit and dropped some boost pressure.

Reading this thread in it's entirety, especially the first 20 pages will answer most, if not all your questions. "Read the manual Marine!"

As long as the pumps are working , you final your load at a poly facility and fuel there in closing your trip. If the plant doesn't force you to go get fuel and come back to final , as Grand Prairie would , you log your fuel on the trip report you are on.

Idle it. ClimaCab sucks unless you build a little pup tent over your bed and trap the cool air in you're own little capsule. I don't think they care about idle time much unless your fuel mileage is in the tank (so to speak). My last trip home then back to Laredo I averaged 5 mpg because of the heat...and so far, they haven't said anything. Not sure how long it takes after a trip like that for them to say something. Over the winter I had 2 loads back to back of Gatorade and flavored water out of Indy going to MN in sub-zero temps. One picked up Friday and delivered Monday, so I sat a day and a half under it. Broker said idle to keep from freezing...so I idled. 4.3 mpg. Poly called me on that one, and all I said was sub-zero temps and a temp sensitive load...and they marked it down as weather related.

Well, I passed the interview and was offered a job pending drug screen results (not least bit worried about that as I don't do drugs). Looks like I'll be going to orientation next week. I did specifically ask about the reliability of the trucks. I was told they're having quite a few issues out of the new Internationals they bought. It's bad enough that they have 2 techs from the International dealership on sight for 2 or 3 days a week to do nothing but warranty repairs. Roehl is having the same issues with their Internationals. If I have a choice, I'm going to try to pick out a Freightliner. I told the gentleman I interviewed with about the truck I've been driving and that they might want to check them out. I've been driving a 2013 Freightliner with a Detroit Diesel and Eaton 10 speed. I've had zero breakdowns in that truck.

Anyway, hopefully everything works out and I'll have finally found a happy home. :)
