He said they'd give me a list of available trucks and have me check out which one I wanted on the first day of orientation. If that's the case, I'm thinking I'll check into some older ones that hopefully don't have the issues the new ones are having. I *really* hope I can find one that doesn't wreak of cigarette smoke as I don't smoke and it takes forever to get that smell out of 'em, and you never get it out entirely.

I'm seriously bummed


( I tried for anything , but nothing leaving till Saturday at the earliest )

 

Outbound called already. Picked a load out for Saturday afternoon to Loveland for Monday. He ran down quiet a list. Many multi-stops again.

And I ran down US95 out of Fernley to Vegas. Got here to Vegas before noon and it is already 102 with a high of 113....and it is only July...I'd take FL's heat and humidity over this dry toaster oven any time.

 

check with the actual shipping department of Up North. Not sure if there usual practice of having weekend loads ready early will be affected by a Friday holiday or not, but they usually have weekend loads done by Friday night there (when there is product available that is). GP's Outbound people won't know if it's ready early or not when they offer unless it already has a trailer assigned to it.

 

No idea how to reach them , for instance I was going to call Tony today to see whats the deal on fueling to get a shower but i dont have his number
I always seem to have just enough fuel to get to a Poly spot instead of stopping at a Loves or Pilot for a 50 gallon fuel/shower deal.
They said in orientation they keep tabs on drivers for doing that fuel/shower deal.
They fire a lot of drivers for such a small outfit , 25 so far this year according to orientation, another was getting the axe
when i was in the office the other week watching videos.
Ultimately i would like to stay out of trouble myself ( and also not smell like road kill )
Poly reminds me of that series "La Femme Nakita " , where you can get cancelled in a millisecond
But if it comes down to buying them , i guess i'll just bite the bullet.

Poly has a shower at GP , but Im not sure of the other spots.

It would be great if they had a shower at every location
