My point was , it was mentioned to me during orientation that if you can make it to a Poly spot and get fuel , to do it .
Rather than take on fuel just to get a free shower.
The man in orientation seemed to frown on drivers just grabbing 50 gallons at a Loves in order to get a shower when they could have made it to Poly and refueled there.
I even called it into question during orientation , but didn't get anywhere with it
I walked away with the impression that it will be counted against the driver.
But maybe he was just stating his view as opposed to Polys
I will call Tony tomorrow and see what gives ( i found his number )
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Well, my truck had a serious talk with Karma while I was out west. Coming into AZ my engine fan stays on all the time, but it was 100+ outside so I didn't think much of it until 20 miles outside Kingman when I stopped feeling cold air coming out of the vents and the smell burning rubber. Turns out my a/c, which is the second one since I've had this truck (less than 10 months)...now it's out again. And they don't fix a/c on the road...but it's over 100. So now I am in a motel for at least 2 nights...and some long hot days if they don't decide to fix out here.

Read the thread. Faxed in the application. Poly seems like the place an old timer like me can fit in.

My husband has been broken down since Monday because his truck wasn't finished in the shop and he had to take a loaner... I know there's no breakdown pay, but he still gets paid his per diem, right? And I also know the company will reimburse us for his hotel stay while he sitting there. He was supposed to be home by tomorrow morning so we could take the kids out to watch the fireworks, but now that doesn't look like it's happening. He's thinking of renting a car to come home, as it's only 6 hours away. The shop that he's at hasn't even started working on his truck yet..... All the little crap here and there I can handle, but this mess is really making me start to look for a different company for him. I'm not a happy wife and he's not a happy trucker! Going without pay because the loaner truck broke down does not bode well with me...
