This Pepsi load has been the load from ####! Called broker this a.m., was told no reschedule necessary if I get to delivery by 3pm. I push hard and get here at 245pm...and the guard has instructions that they aren't unloading any more today. Called the broker back and they assured me that they would take it...and they would call me right back after clearing it up...and that was 90 minutes ago...I am going to protest Pepsi...

:protest: NO PEPSI...NO PEPSI...WHAT DO WE WANT....UNLOADED....WHEN DO WE WANT IT....RIGHT NOW.....WHAT DO WE WANT....UNLOADED....WHEN DO WE WANT IT....RIGHT NOW.... WHAT DO WE WANT....UNLOADED....WHEN DO WE WANT IT....RIGHT NOW:protest:

    *update*
I ended up calling broker back. 90 minutes of waiting. When I talked to the agent that deals with Pepsi it was one of those "oh, I thought they called you back" moments...turns out I have to come back tomorrow at 0600 and get worked in because Pepsi never called him back about a new appointment tomorrow...so...I am in limbo. I always have issues with Hybrid...I may have to avoid the IL/IN area for awhile. I have pulled loads out if Indy as well for this outfit to the same destination.

SS, I would have called backhaul to see if a 900 different would be possible. Let them deal with the broker & reschedule, if possible.

    supersnackbar and Mev Thank this.

there are 2 options 1) 900 same driver allows u to stop at gp yard and turn in paperwork, u will b assigned a new load number to finish delivery of load.

2)900 different driver is simply being authorized to drop your delivery goin to the dallas area at the gp yard and ending trip there so u can put urself on board to take another outbound load, a local driver would finish load.

should be paperwork from orientation with this on it, also u have to get auth to stop thru gp with a load, that is called a continuation

they are in the qualcomm, for continuation i just send a free form msg requesting one

    Mev Thanks this.

as againstthewind 'splained it...Essentially a 900 is what other companies call a t'call. A 900 diff is where one driver drops the load and a different driver delivers it. A 900 same is a t'call where the same driver that brings it in delivers it, but both get assigned a new trip number so they can pay the miles correctly.
Honestly, I looked in my orientation paperwork, and there is no real explanation of how to do it...neither is there an explanation of a continuation. But all 3 need prior approval before getting to the yard, and during the slower times, a 900 diff authorization is hard to come by.

    Mev Thanks this.

I haven't had the best of luck with back haul lately...we have some new people in there that aren't up to speed. The last few weeks, at least once a week I have to prod them to get my load info after I am empty...and well after they have usually called and had things set. Rookies...who needs them :biggrin_2559:

    Bumper Thanks this.

A 900 diff/same can be done at Up North, Henderson, & a 900 diff can occasionally be done at Pol-Tex.
