Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Good Grief !!

 

Dispatchers told me they can get you detention , claimed to have gotten one guy $600.00 smackers.
Call them , they sound like righteous dudes

 

I finally have some resolution in the works. The brokers boss called long after I expected him to call, wondering why I hadn't called in empty...after explaining that I have spent 1/2 the day calling trying to get the message thru that they don't "work drivers in" up here any more, and the other 1/2 of the day waiting on a 'call right back' from the broker...they got an account manager involved. I now have a firm appointment for 530 tomorrow morning...and I emphasized that the broker owes me some either detention time or a layover...I also spoke to another Poly with a 1230 appointment for today. He said all they had left out of UPN as of yesterday was the Michigan load he snagged...so, 900'g wouldn't do too much at this point...sit here or sit there. It has truly been one of the most frustrating weeks of my Poly life...but unlike my evil twin (a.k.a. Creten Snackbar) I am taking the high road and letting it all just go with the flow....but I am getting a sore throat from the angry OHMMMMMMMMMMM.....OHMMMMMMMMM...OHMMMMMMMM'S...

And I also listed each visit to the consignee on my trip sheet and a brief explanation as to why I left and why I had an excess of 10% over the miles. If they want to pay me the extra stops...fine...if not, being done with this broker is payment enough then.

 

on outbound Poly has to authorize, on backhaul the brokers pay, but I've been told that you have to inform backhaul of who promised what and how much they promised in order to make sure they indeed pay what they owe.

 

i got 250 detention once for a backhaul delivery when the customer couldnt unload me till next morn, didnt get there till 2pm anyway so it wasnt a big deal, i didnt even ask, cant remember if the broker or backhaul called me and told me about it before i could even ask.

 

That would satisfy me, especially if I have to wait until Friday for a weekend load out of UPN.

One bright side. This little spread out truck stop at exit 81 off I-35 has a choice of food(Chinese and a BBQ...then McD's and Subway), decent coffee and donuts...and a laundromat with fairly new equipment. So I'll get a good meal, my laundry done right this time, a good night's sleep and coffee in the morning.

 

He sucks, so glad he lost his AC and he breaks phones all the time.
