It's a Holiday fuel stop, with showers, CAT scale, and a few spots right next to the building...a McD's next door w/truck parking. Then a little strip mall that has Subway, a BBQ joint, a Chinese restaurant, laundromat, and even a chiropractor/DOT clinic in it...behind that strip mall there is room for 20 or so trucks...then there is a second truck parking area down an embankment from there that has room for another 20 or 30 trucks. All of it part of the truck stop...there is even a privately owned truck wash and a Motel6. It is visible from I-35 at exit 81(in MN), east of the interstate. I've had the Chinese food 2 or 3 times. It's as good as any I've had delivered...and the BBQ smells good from the lot, but I am spoiled on Sonny's BBQ out of the southeast....not sure these MN'ers would have anything to compare to them.

I'm on my 1st back haul, going to Midland from Quincy FL. I'll have over 3000 miles on my first week out. :)

for anyone new to these trucks or poly, if ur oil psi is down near 20 which mine usually is near the end of oil change cycle, i would call shop and get it changed on the road.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaa. After 3 tries, I am finally empty in Burnsville, MN...now I have to piddle around waiting for my next load....geeez. 3 days for 500 miles...brokers are like ex-wives...can't live with 'em and you can't just shoot 'em (I'm guessing, never had an ex-wife...at least yet)

You're not alone , I got 192 miles in two days this week . I hope the bean counters notice when low miles are due to forces beyond our control .
My week completely stinks , I'm afraid to even add up the numbers .

The good thing, as I'm sure SS will agree, is that here at Poly you can usually make up those miles. At Crete & other OTR companies...once there gone, there gone. The bean counters aren't worried about one week, they are more concerned with an average over several months. Hint: quit worrying.

you're correct...even with the down time, I still focus on my overall monthly average...and ytd it is still better than when I was with Crete's Happy Valley Trucking division. I am not heading to the yard yet just in case they have a serious lack of outbound loads and I end up backhauling a load instead...

It took the receiving all of 30 minutes to unload me once I finally got in the gate. Such is life I guess.

The bean counters don't have a buzzer or warning system that goes off if you don't have a good month...you have to remember that this is one of the most laid back low stress companies you will ever work for. And if they ever call you about miles, and there is a legitimate reason for them being low...they'll understand when you explain it. They aren't like other companies that are waiting to pounce on you for every little thing...replacing a driver actually costs them money since we all make the same amount per mile...so if there is an issue causing a lack of productivity, it's cheaper for Poly, in the long run, to resolve the issue rather than replace the driver...unless the driver IS the issue.
