I'm unloading in the morning, and then headed back to GP to grab another flatbed coming back to Oklahoma again. I dig it. :)

Btw, talked to another driver last night at GP who told me he's been out for almost 7 mths. I was floored. I thought I was long runner. I stay out 4-6 weeks at a time. I can't imagine staying out for 7 months.

A Texas load...with me needing service and the shop raising heck...all they had when they called me was MI, OR and MT. Such is life. I got my back haul info already. Pick up Monday in Dillon, MT going to Mesquite for Thursday...looks like another 3000 mile week.

I used to work for Melton. He may have jack knifed the truck too much and slid the tires side ways. You can't jack knife the hell out of split axle trailers like some of these van guys do. You really shouldn't do it on the van trailers either, but they're a bit more forgiving. If Melton determines that's what happened, they'll give that driver a stern talking too. Lol

I'm pulling one of our 48' split axle flatbeds on my current trip.

I understand your concern with the shop and it sounds like you have a little more learning to do here at Poly. At least you're learning much like I did...the hard way. First of all don't get so hung up on the miles for the service deal. As you well know 15,000 miles between services is a little sooner than needed. Next and most important is you try and get it done the way they want but when certain situations present themselves in a manner in which that's not working you adapt and over come. Example...Answer this question: What happens if let's say you're out there somewhere and you notice your oil pressure is to low even though the oil level is full and the truck keeps shutting off...What would you need to do? It also happens that with just some fortune that you are located fairly close to a Speedco. Any lights going off yet? I think we both should know the answers here. Now if that's not something that works then come up with something that will. If all that fails then just run it until you get back to GP. If they aren't getting you serviced on the road then just let that be THEIR problem. Not helping yourself stressing over something you can't control. Hopefully this post will help you in some way. I've felt your pain and just wanted to share some thoughts on the subject and maybe give ya some ideas or whatever. Good luck and take care out there. :)

I understand all that...but it's the arrogant all knowing attitude I get from those idiots, who know less than I do, about their job...and they know it. Perhaps that is why they act that way. They may be insulted or feel threatened in some way by a lowly driver who can do their job better than them. In fact I brought it to Tommy's attention that most companies do an A service at 20k on these trucks and a B at 40k. And that it's only $50 or so more than what an in-house service costs them to use Speedco. His reply was "a blown motor is more than $50"...which I said, "if you use Speedco and you blow a motor...then you get a free motor replacement courtesy of them...and if you're worried about blowing a motor after missing a 15k oil change by a few thousand...there is other issues with your service system since even the manufacturer's service interval with the stock filter is 25k, and if you would use the extended life filter they recommend 40k...so 17,5k isn't hurting anything". Fortunately I have a Maxxfarce engine and don't have the oil pressure problems the Cummins do. Which, by the way, is another failure by the shop management. That issue indicates that the injectors are slightly out of time, and Cummins needs to fix it...but Mikes 'head in the sand' approach to resolving issues only complicates things. He would rather treat the symptoms than cure the disease...which only proves that he is not qualified to be in the position he's in.

Well, none of that surprises me. I would have to agree with you on all this. As I said I have learned the hard way by going through some of the same types of things with them. It's really unfortunate we have to deal with all of that from them. I just suck it up and do the best I can to move past it. I certainly don't care for some of the decisions I have to make as a result. However, I'm going to do what I have to and stay rolling as best as I can out here. My family and I depend on it as most all of us do. Good luck with it and take care out there.

Mike used to be over where tony and the others are .
He ( according to "legend") would lay points on drivers .
One driver described what amounted to a double jeopardy situation.
He had a skirt come loose , and being unable to reach anyone
at Poly Mgmt , proceeded to move the truck .
Dude got slammed for 3 points by Michael at the time for moving the truck
    before teporting the incident.
Ive tried calling twice into poly and left messages , all of if fell into the void.
    Kinda scary .

    Possible question is ,
Can he still put points on drivers now that he's in maintenance ?
Poly , even though it's a really good job and the miles are good , had a very complex
    structure on the inside .
I'd mainly be concerned about getting caught up in the vortex
..... The Poly Tex as it were :biggrin_2559:
