No wonder I am getting northwest loads again. The fair weather drivers saw the word snow in the forecast and got 'skeered'

Well, the unplugged hood sensor was the issue with the autostart on my truck. Still has the power issue, and a squeal like a CAC leak or a hole I can't find in a flex hose.

I got the call from backhaul. Pick up in Milwaukie, OR going to San Antonio. The bad thing is a Friday pickup, but doesn't deliver until Wednesday next week. Which might work out since I need to get through the yard to drop this truck off and get a loaner (if any available)...will still be a productive load and a productive week either way.

Verizon hates weeks like this for people like me..with consecutive weeks where I get 34's...my data use goes thru the roof. It's only been 15 days since the billing cycle and I am over 80 gig already...if it keeps up like this, I may get the Data Hog of the Year award.

Back on the road after 13 days off. Sitting in SLC tonight for a Costco drop tomorrow. Picking up two loads in the area for Farmer's Branch which I will be dropping Friday night at GP and picking up a load back home to Las Vegas:) Should put me over 3000 miles for 5 days with a reset at the house.

The hood tilt sensor may have had something to do with my lack of power...in a way. I noticed that, even though I was on US93 a lot lately, I hadn't seen the "exhaust temp" light come on any time I was in a town where I had to stop. Not once. Prior to the latest shop visit, it would come on occasionally when I would exit the interstate or was just heading out and was in stop-n-go traffic. But since the shop visit, I hadn't seen it at all. I think (and I know I am not suppose to do that...think I mean) that the hood tilt sensor has something to do with disabling the regen system as well as keeping the auto-start from functioning...therefore, my truck hadn't done a passive (driving) regen since before the shop...so my DPF had clogged to the point where the ECM de-rated the engine...thus reducing my power. And the squeal I am hearing is back pressure from a clogged exhaust. Since the hood sensor was unplugged it disabled the warning system telling me to do a regen. Yesterday, after plugging in the hood sensor, my auto-start worked again. Then this a.m. when I started my truck to do my pretrip, the engine raced up to 1600 rpm (like a parked regen)...but since I was going to be pulling some weight up hills, I cancelled it and let it do it's passive regen while under power. I know it was doing one because I saw a cloud of smoke when I started pulling onto the interstate for a few minutes, then when I was stopped at the end of the interstate at a redlight, the exhaust temp light came on finally...and my squeal has lessened dramatically and the truck feels more like a Maxxfarce powered truck, and not a moped.

This is the hood sensor I am talking about (this pic is the drivers side inner fender taken from the passenger side)

If your truck has dropped a lot of power since coming out of the shop...1st try a parked regen. If the light just blinks on the switch, check this sensor to make sure it is plugged in.

amazing that a driver has to figure that out. almost as bad as the shop not tightening the cables to the batteries after disconnecting them to work on the truck. Not like they wiggle loose while driving if tightened properly...

I see your signature line...are you a G.K. Chesterton fan or a Criminal Minds fan?

Both. Been a few years since I have read any Chesterton though.

I find many of his thoughts still fit todays world... must be that people have not changed in a 100 years.
