I came from Pam and on there international and frieghtliner they go 50k between b service. That's a lot of wasted time and money here at Poly.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

i was also waiting to see how the summer months went here as the summer is when i like to take more time off, i made it home everytime when i requested though one of those times i had to fly home as my truck was stuck in the dealer, but i was just glad i at least had the option to go home , now if i can make it thru my next service. when my yr comes up i will see what i make and deduct out of pocket expenses and compare it to other job options and decide if its worth it for me. my expectations were low so i will prob be satisfied but we will c
i will say if u live paycheck to paycheck or need steady pay, poly may not be for u, not because of the pay but because of the way we get paid and the downtime from truck issues it can certainly be up an down sometimes but i think overall i will happyMev and Son of a Trucker Thank this. -
One July I left home and made it 5 miles before she shut down, on a small 2 lane highway, Breakdown thought I was in Troy, IL, but I was in Troy, IN.
I made it back home, cancelled my load, went to my auto parts store and got a filter, It was 100 degrees, drank plenty of adult beverages and changed the filter. Which was easy to get to.
I turned in the receipt with a note explaining that I changed the filter myself and some beer money would be appreciated, I got repaid for the filter, ....no labor for that one -
I know that Crete's Cummins engines liked to change their own oil...to the tune of a gallon a week in some cases, but didn't hear anyone complaining about the filter issue. I never had a Cummins there, I went straight from APU Century Class to Maxxfarce Crap spreader.
The Poly problem Cummins rarely make 10k before the oil pressure gets low enough to shut it down. -

Growing Pains.
It's like that scene in Platoon ....
" shut up , take the pain! , take the pain!"

To show how much the disagreement with Tommy and my meeting with Alan has affected me and my desire to run hard again...the month before the meeting happened, I put 14,400+ on the truck. After the meeting, which was at the end of July(when I had my last oil change) I have only turned 13,000 since. The desire to kick ### and take names no longer is present...as long as I get my 8000/mo...I couldn't care less about pushing for more. This whole experience, especially dealing with the shop and this 2nd rate equipment has ruined a driver who use to push for every mile he could log...now, who cares. I have my wife keeping an ear out for a decent local job, and I regularly scan for north Florida local driving opportunities...if one comes along that would gross in the high $40k to low $50k's, I would hang up OTR, and wave bye-bye...if any management at Poly keeps tabs on this thread...congrats...you've done something no other company had been able to do in my 21 years of driving. Until I had to deal with your equipment and your shop...I would have rather quit driving than drive local...now I would do it in a skinnet (and that is less than a minute)
*update*
Backhaul just called. I have requested getting to GP for truck issues(International didn't fix everything), and I am right at 2000 miles before a service....where do they send me...Pol-tex to Henderson. Gonna request a 900 diff on it, I really don't want to go back out there any more...nice people and all, but, I am sick of the Northwest (another first for me).Last edited: Sep 11, 2014

Ok, call me juvenile, but this headline appears on the Yahoo news sight...I couldn't stop giggling when I read it:
"Uranus Plays Peek-a-Boo with the Moon Tonight"
sorry, the 9 year old in me still giggles at fart jokes and sound effects too.Last edited: Sep 11, 2014
bigcat1124, Rattlebunny, Hott Rodd and 2 others Thank this. -
International in Roseville didn't a quick fix on my loaner. Was ready the next morning. Hard to believe. The drive shaft fell off and somehow didn't damage anything else. I delivered in North Vernon, IN. Heading up to Indy and going right back to Burnsville. It was 48 yesterday morning. Time to bust out the jeans. Haha!
