Different crew today in Henderson...and my load isn't ready (3 days early) like the previous 2 visits. No matter, I'm bushed...truck is running fine...and I flipped a coin and decided to stay in the Railroad hotel south of the plant...

Something weird is happening with my truck. Between GP and Moriarty (a lot of flatter land in TX) the beast got 5.1 mpg. Between Moriarty and Kingman (lots of hills) I got 6.5 mpg. Perhaps they snuck a new type hybrid power regen brake system when they did the brakes. I always thought that hills made the mpg get worse. Perhaps Maxxforce has some type of space/time altering force field that only works on the hills.

Talk about a 180 deg change. Last 2 loads out of Henderson, truck was running crappy, loads were out on Sunday (for a Tuesday scheduled shipment)...this load, truck is running good, loads are running slower than normal (although will be ready on Monday. For a load scheduled for a Tuesday pu, I really can't complain...there are times in GP that they are 1/2 a day or more behind the scheduled pu). Guess my wife should have bribed them more so I don't lose too much at the slots...her bad :biggrin_25517:

No love on my regular truck being ready until tomorrow which might as well be next week as I had to roll out to make delivery on time. Not so bad though I suppose as this loaner is running fine, just miss having all of my stuff with me like my BBQ grill etc. Should be clocking in at near 4300 miles for 7 days when I get to Loveland tomorrow. Resetting at Johnson's corner I suppose before finishing off the last two stops in Billings and Tacoma which will make for a leisurely start to my new week as I can't deliver the Tacoma load until Monday morning. Going to take some Montana back roads and see some new areas along the way. Had a driver's appreciation day today at GP. Some free chili, hot dogs, etc along with some more free trash bags. Haven't idled a lick in this loaner and she is getting a robust 5.4 mpg over the last 6K miles or so:) Oh well racking up the driver points and showers.

Sitting here in Reno at Sherwin Williams. Asked backhaul if I could wait and leave out tomorrow. I ate at the Petro last night and I believe I got into some under cooked chicken. Severally under the weather today. Going to be a long day. Ugh!

I made it to the Pilot in Stanfield, OR today. If anyone here was coming down Cabbage today in the late afternoon and saw another Poly zip by...sorry, I didn't mean to scare ya' but I saw all that smoke coming out from under your trailer brakes...I didn't want to have to dig out my fire extinguisher to put them out. Not sure what was up, but you were crawling, I went by so quick, I couldn't even tell you what the truck number was...I just saw the glimmer of Maxxfarce badge.

On a positive note, I see lots of onions rolling east on flatbeds...makes it easier to find loads back east for us.

It's never a good sign when you see a grown man carrying a pillow and stack of reading material into the men's room...you know he's not at his best.:biggrin_25513:

Spending the night in North Bend, WA at the T/A...which is usually a fuster cluck and a crowded place to be...but today, they are spot patching and paving the lot. You couldn't pay me enough to be the guy who is driving the bob-cat with the sweeper attachment. I've seen him almost get hit 2 or 3 times already...g'me the steam roller...at least let him block for the bob-cat.

No love from back haul today. Ruh-ro. I always hear about my next back haul the day before when I am up here in the NW.
