I've been pretty steady the last 2 months. Averaging around 3,200 a week. Do a lot of MD, PA and back to GP. Coming back from FL is week. Will be heading back to FL since I have the week of the 13th. Got a condo in Daytona Beach for Bike Week.

My mini vacation is over. Tried to fix my screen on my Note 3, and toasted the phone. So now I am back on my S3 because the insurance has them on backorder.
Missed the call from backhaul yesterday, but will find out shortly.
The shop also called yesterday, my regular truck is done. Tommy actually sounded like he was in a good mood again, maybe my issues with the shop are done for a while.
*Update*-My back haul is Albany, GA (Thursday) delivering to our favorite grocery warehouse chain...HEB, in Houston for Friday evening. Then hopefully a Pol-Tex load back to GP so I can swap back to my regular truck.Last edited: Oct 8, 2014
Rattlebunny and tucker Thank this. -
Don't know if you have been to the HEB in Houston but they have a decent area to park while waiting. The actually got me in about 1 hour ahead of schedule and knocked the load out in under 1 hour. Lumper fee about 50.00.
Headed back up to Blaine.supersnackbar Thanks this. -

There are times I ask myself 'why do I stay here'. With all the equipment issues, I seldom go a whole week without some piece of company junk causing a problem. I get to P&G to get loaded, drive thru their water-fall leak detector without an issue...2 hours later, they tell me that the trailer was rejected because of a hole in the roof(that doesn't leak). I have the security shut me in, and sure enough, one of the wrap around seams at the top of the trailer shows light, about 3 foot long gap in the right side seam, but can only be seen if you look from the far left wall, at just the right angle....quality equipment...and this is a mid-year trailer...not the old junk 21## and not a new 28##, it's a 26##.
I went home this last time to get some perspective...to calm myself and really just forget my troubles here...then BAM...1st day back, I am right back in the same crappy frame of mind I was in .before my time off...
*update 1* fleetnet sent a repair guy to fix a roof leak, that didn't have a ladder. Now an hour has gone by while he went to get one....and Pat calls me, curious about this hole in the roof...I may as well head back home, unload the truck and make air line reservations...so I can get back to GP and get the rest of my stuff and ship it home...then find a real company to work for...since reliable equipment is 1/2 the equasion to succeed in trucking....there will be no success with the equipment provided.
*update 2-trailer was rejected again...this time for the ratty ### plywood lining(that was accepted the 1st time)..and is no different than every other Poly trailer's lining. They said I could tape it...but it would be easier to get a roll of Poly's thick black plastic and do the whole inside...
I am starting to feel like either Poly was bought by Crete(except we haven't been issued the better equipment Crete issues) or that they hired some ex-Crete operations people. I have this equipment issue, clearly will be a problem even picking up this load...I call Poly's after hours dispatch and leave a message and....get ignored, just like I was at Crete. I wonder how long it would take them to call if I just said #### it and went home...
*update 3- called Poly's emergency back haul line last night after my 2nd trailer rejection, left a message but never got a call back...even this morning...nothing...so I went to Wally and bought $20 worth of tape and a tape gun...and went tape nuts. I return to P&G, check in, and the security says they are putting freight on it...30 minutes after that, I get a call from back haul, with another load out of GA instead...WTF?...this place is getting as disfunctional as Crete was before I left them...Last edited: Oct 10, 2014

Maybe there as fed up with that place as you are. Been there twice. First time no problem. Second time was a nightmare like yours. Not as bad but close. Think the guard in the end just wanted the crap board and load locks.
