Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

The smoking policy is also a no flame policy...as in, Majestyk(and anyone else who uses a grill) isn't allowed to fire up his grill on site. It stems from, I believe, a fire that happened many moons ago when the plastic recycle area caught fire and Poly ended up buying the sub-division because of the residue from the smoke.(the sub-division is now the field past the lake north of building-8.. ) Just like every thing else, 1 problem results in major policy changes. I know drivers who smoke who would walk out to the front gate (the gate off Marshall) to the other side of the fence for a smoke. My advice is, if you need a dose of nicotine, buy a vapor e-cig. My son's company has a full no smoking policy...including property and vehicles. He vape's full time now and has stopped smoking tobacco.

 

One of the things that came out of the meeting that was new...John in Outbound moved to another department, Kaleb is now the man in charge and Myron is in Outbound...not sure who is in Backhaul replacing Myron.

 

That's it! Wow! Can't wait to go to one of the next meetings then. I swear I don't even know why they do them anymore. I was told about the John change earlier this week. Thank you for the information. Sure wish there would've been more. I'm Sure adding an ice machine to the driver's lounge and putting in a better place to shower never came out of their lips. Not even a Johnny on the spot or a better bathroom close to the truck line either. I better stop there. So many things they could do to make life on the yard better but oh well, I'm not surprised nothing was mentioned. Got to love it! Take care out there!

 

Hey thanks for the reply!! I can't wait to get started with Poly and I think I'm really going to love it. Yea, being a smoker I was really hoping maybe I could go out side the gate and have one now and then so if that is an acceptable option that's great for me to know. I have had those ecigs before too and will probably bring one along as well. thanks again and I look forward to meeting fellow Poly drivers and getting to know everything Poly hahaha... I appreciate all the info you guys post on here, being brand new to the company I'm hoping to learn and absorb all that I can. I think my presence on this website may be a lot like my presence on my CB radio while I'm driving.... mostly don't have much to say, but like to listen and monitor in order to absorb any pertinent helpful information (weather, traffic back ups, etc) hahaha.. but if I happen to hear anything off line that I think might be helpful to the group as a whole and no one else has posted it yet, I'll be sure to share !! otherwise I'll probably be just reading along trying to learn whatever I can from you folks who've been around longer than I. Ixoh7 when will you be going to orientation? Have you done your interview/physical?

Hi armyguy yep, I've completed my interview and physical, and I start orientation a week from tomorrow !! yay I'm psyched !! Hahaha

 

Ok I do have another question haha.. I'm also new to this online discussion forum in general, and wondering.. is it acceptable to use our "real" names on here or just user names only? Don't really matter to me just curious thanks
