Left Grand Prairie last Friday going to Lowes DC in Cheyenne. Delivered that this past Sunday morning then went to Green River,WY to pick up going to Duncan,SC which I delivered Friday morning then went to Newport,TN to pick up at ConAgra going to Ft Worth for Monday morning.

After delivering to Lowes in Cheyenne I decided to stay in Cheyenne the remainder of Sunday in hopes the wind would die down. It was gusting at 50mph and the "NO LIGHT TRAILERS" advisory was in affect. I arose early in hopes to make it to Green River by 10am MST. The wind was still blowing. No matter, I had a scheduel I wanted to keep so off I went.

I made it to Laramie by driving no faster than 45mph. But that was as far as I was going to go; wind or no wind. The air dryer, which had been giving me trouble for several months finally decided to spring a consistant leak by not allowing the purg-valve to close. Called FleetNet and gave them the info and told them I was at the Petro. Was told to go ahead an check in there and they would call the service desk after they notified the Poly shop. One and a half hours later the truck was in the shop and the work was completed three hours later. This included getting a new air dryer from Cheyenne. By that time it was too late to make it to Green River that day. So pick up was changed to Tuesday. I was somewhat glad for the breakdown as it gave me a good excuse not to drive the empty trailer in high winds. I waited till 1530 for the winds to die down, but they did only slightly and the advisory was still in affect. I decided to drive on. Glad I did. The winds were not gusting as much as they had been earlier in the morning and I made it to Rock Springs without any problems.

FYI, the following is from the Wyoming DOT web site concerning the "NO LIGHT TRAILERS" advisory.

No Light Trailers:
WYDOT will post a No Light Trailer message on the information systems when the wind gusts are
greater than 50 mph with ANY road conditions.

This advisory pertains to trailers of any size (commercial and non-commercial) and to other
vehicles such as recreational vehicles which are loaded with light materials (or are empty) and
have a profile that is subject to wind gusts. Drivers of such vehicles are advised not to travel
when a "no light trailers' advisory is posted as they can anticipate strong gusts of wind which
may result in the loss of control of their vehicle or the potential for their vehicle to completely
blow over.

Blow-overs of light trailers are very common in Wyoming. Controlling a vehicle during a strong
wind event can be even more difficult when slick road conditions are present.

There is no specific research that has been done to study at what wind speeds and what load
weights trucks will blow over. Therefore, WYDOT cannot provide a specific weight or wind
speed that will cause a trailer to blow over.

>>>>>>>Any driver who fails to comply with the "no light trailer" advisory and who is involved in a
crash may be subject to a fine and can expect to pay the cleanup costs and fees associated with
repairing any damage caused to public and/or private property.<<<<<<<<<<

Look into expediting lots of fleet owners looking for b class drivers for straight trucks

I would think that as long as you can verify all gaps in employment there would not be an issue. Afterall, Poly only requires one year experience OTR. With all the ex-Crete drivers they have hired I think you would be a shoo-in. Good luck!

I may start calling Poly the 'Crete driver relocation organization' or the 'Crete driver relief organization'. With all the ex-Cretes over there, they might get to the point where they put limits on the immigration of any more. It'll be easier during a interview though...he will ask 'why are you wanting to leave your current carrier...oh wait, you're a Crete driver...never mind, I know all about it, you're hired'

Yeah you shouldn't have any problems with that gap for education time. I have a three year gap when I lived in Venezuela that I just listed coffee farmer and that posed no problems.

Slipped out of Vegas this morning and made it to Boise tonight. Decided to push it hard and reach Blaine by tomorrow night so I can hopefully get unloaded early Monday and get a load out while the getting is good. The weather is cooperating nicely and looks like it will continue to do so for as least the next few days up in the great NW.

Had 7 days off this month so going to have to bust ### to reach 10K miles for November but with not being home for Thanksgiving will have a shot if I can snag something good over the holiday.
