I made contact with the driver managers the day it happened and twice since then as the downtime looked to be dragging on,
they have no plans to get me picked up and taken back for a loaner and dispatch has no plans to re-power the load i am under.
Needless to say the broker isn't very happy. It will be 7 days late as of tomorrow.
I was expecting the powers that be to stand up and get things going but they are doing nothing.
Not sure what to make of it , feels like i been left for dead .
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

I might also add that future employers might be inclined to overlook an abandonment on a person's record for such a situation...I would guess. I mean, you've got to make a living and since the breakdown wasn't a result of something you did, they should see to it that you are either given transportation back to corporate or provided with alternate equipment. If it were me, after I check on the progress of the truck, the 1st call Monday morning would be to Alan with an "I don't want to cause any problems, but I think I have been more than patient, what can we do to resolve this" type attitude...but I tend to rock the boat and am also not afraid to be tossed overboard for rocking too hard.
After a week, if it were me, my butt would be on the way home with another job lined up and once I started my new job, I would mail the keys and my ID's along with copies of the motel receipts...Last edited: Dec 6, 2014

I figured out why I didn't get the call from out bound Friday. The 3rd drivers meeting was this weekend, so there was an overload of available drivers they had to poop freight for.

Ya i put myself on fridays board Wednesday and when I arrived in gp thursday I got a call saying no more Friday loads so I took a 3 drop ending in Miami that was ready Saturday morning.

Have a question. How do they usually handle payroll during Christmas and New Years? I know they usually have a early cut off.
