Lucky you. This last visit to GP will most likely be the last paycheck for the year for me since I won't be back in GP by the payroll cutoff next week, and New Years Eve is on Thursday, and payday is on 1/1...I managed to eek out 114650 miles...2nd lowest year in my 22+ years out here. 2nd only to the '08 recession year where I turned 111k. These low numbers are not entirely the company's fault, but their equipment failures cost me probably 5-6000 miles I'm guessing. I was out only 300ish days this year, so my extra time off is partly to blame as well...couple that with the overall lack of giving a #### about the 8000 mile requirement after that one blowout I had with the shop where I had to sit down with Alan sealed the deal for me. Not sure if I'll continue like this next year or move on to something more local/regional. I made mid 50's in gross pay, but if you take out $5-600 per month living expenses, a high $40k local/regional job would net me about the same if I can get thru the house more to cut down on on-road food expense

If things are that slow out there, check with them early. Every time I've been out there when things were slow, they had it ready way earlier than expected.

did u leave msg or talk to them, i would make sure to always talk to them, i never once had a problem getting a load home untill john and carl left, looks like i will make christmas but i missed thxgiving but i offered to do another run and then go home and didnt think i would make christmas, as far as getting home if u live in the east it wouldnt make sense goin west, if u live in the south then i wouldnt go up to the midwest, i try an plan it out a few wks ahead, if i take a load out of gp fri it will prob deliver mon, prob have backhaul by tues and deliver fri, add a day or 2 getting back to gp if i go to houston and so on, its worked for me so far, i would give them some time in outbound to figure out how everything works

I would 2nd that, I almost never leave a voice mail when it comes to putting me on an out bound board, hometime or not. I call both numbers, even if Myron answers, he can put you on GP's board even though he's the PW/UPN guy. The only time I leave any kind of message is after hours on the emergency line. And if you do leave a message during normal biz hours, it never hurts their feeling if you call in and double check that they got the message.

Words coming out ....when we check in at the gate at PGP that we will be required to Yellow Tag the trailers and write them up .... they are attempting to prevent trailers that need work from
getting out on the road before needed work is done.

I guess they should hire a guy to inspect and green tag them when we drop 'em...oh wait, they have one...I guess it's too much to ask that man to do the job he was hired for...maybe they are getting some government grant money to keep guys like him on the payroll so they don't have to pay him welfare.
