How is Poly on letting you guys bobtail to the truck stop if ya all got any in the area, I know from reading this you guys have to jump through hoops to get out of the "compound" and was wondering how picky they are in allowing you to go to a truck stop. If I remember correctly the only truck stops in that area are around Dallas.

You contact the compliance department (our safety department) and request a bob-tail pass...which is basically an empty trip number. You check out and back in the same as if you were under a load...that way they keep track of extra miles not hauling freight. I personally go all the way to Hutchins all the time. Like 55-60 miles round trip. There was a rumor bouncing around that they didn't want us using the Dallas truck stops because of the crime...too many trucks being broken into. I never heard that from management, but that doesn't mean anything. I've been called into the office to explain why I broke a rule I didn't know existed more than once.

I'm the king of bob tailing off the PGP lot .
    Nobody's ever said a word.
    Someimes they even let me
have a loner taxi to go about
    my personal errands while
my truck is in the shop.
(just have to make sure that
you have checked in with the
    log book clerk first before
    launching off the lot )

for me i usually dont get in a hurry to get back to the yard, and unless i have service due or repairs i put my self in for a load the same day that i get in so i can get in an out. if i do stay i usually dont mind the break as i usually feel beat by the time i get there so the last thing i wanna do is drive around dallas, and if i am there more than a nite i will get the shuttle to la quinta motel sometimes, i would get a car and have it there but for me its just cheaper to go to the motel than to pay for a car, gas and insure it just to have it there since i dont have a spare vehicle.usually im only at the yard about once a month anyway so its not a big deal for me

Hey Snack, when my passenger window quits working, I have to pull the thingy with the switches out of the top of the passenger door. And then plug and unplug the harness til it works. They corrode a little and that cleans them.
Theres 4 holes on top, just shove 2 Allen wrenches in there to release the catches. Or pry it up.
your power lock probably quit working too and you're door is unlocked.

    supersnackbar Thanks this.

Im delivering my back haul in dallas tomorrow, easy 2500 miles in 5 days. Put myself on the board for Saturday a couple days ago and I get a call today they only had 1 load left for Saturday. 4 drop ending in Dekalb il Tuesday. Crappy load but for what hours I got its not so bad. I wish I knew if there really was only one load left and me next on the board hmmmm. Anything is better than sitting (most of the time) just prefer a Florida load lol.

Dynasis apu took a crap on me, was thinking about getting it fixed on the road. Does our shop work on/service the apu's?

    and gives fault codes.

There is a mobile van guy (Mike I think is his name) that's usually on the yard working on them or they will send you over to Cantwell in Fort Worth. I would say try and catch him see if he can fix it.
