I would be SCREAMING for layover...If the 2 driver supervisors didn't pay, go upstairs....I am not sure if Nick and Myron make the appointments or just are the ones that assign loads to drivers...but someone in outbound f'd up.

SSB, have you got a plan B in mind? Sounds like you came close this time.

Nothing in my sites. I have to get home and re-roof the rest of my house now that my addition is nearly complete. And since I will be doing it by myself, I will have a lot of alone time to contemplate my options. I am considering a freight type change. I've been doing dry van the majority of my career, tried pulling a reefer (and didn't care for it), I need a new challenge, although I don't think pulling a gas tanker like Chemster does (or did) is my cup-o-tea so that leaves flatbed or bulk tanker. Not sure what my options are in my area in those freight types. I'll just have to play it by ear.

Who knows, I was in a similar frame of mind last fall and things turned around here at Poly and I started enjoying my job...maybe it'll do it again before I make up my mind to leave and I will go back to being a happy camper again.

And the waiting game continues...empty at 930 nw of Amarillo, had set my available time set for 10...it is now after 1500 and all GP can say is "looking for a backhaul"...did Tonn Ostergard and his morons buy the trucking part of this corporation because it sure seems like their style of trucking and not the usual organized Poly way...maybe they're getting ready to shut the doors on the trucking and ship via outside carriers...and the more drivers they get to quit the less they have to pay unemployment...I should have took the $300 flight out of Minn/St. Paul. Now out of Amarillo it is almost $500...

I have a question for my Poly elders(those that have been with this God forsaken place longer than me). If I were to say the heck with it and just deadhead 400 miles to the yard to turn my truck and ID's in, so I could fly home to find a real company to work for, would security let me in the gate or would I have to ask for permission? I am very, very, very close to doing just that, and I don't want an abandonment on my record if I park it at the gate and call a cab.

I was in Dalhart, I ran down to Amarillo after 5 hrs of sitting because the dirt lot Valero was filled with empty stinking bull wagons and there was a railroad crossing on the other side of the 4 lane and a train going by every 15 minutes blowing it's horn. So, to answer your question, yep...still in Amarillo. My miles this month have just barely broken 4k and my monthly average is falling to near my Crete levels. This is truly the worst I've seen it here. Even when I was playing loaner truck roulette (kinda like Russian Roulette, only without the blood and death) I was averaging better, including the winter slow down...
