This is how tight some of our customers can be...I measured it (or I should I say walked it off)...that is about 12 feet between the nose of the neighbors trailer and the nose of mine...and they have a dumpster approximately 5' from the far side of the dock(my passenger side, which you can't see because of the angle you have to be at to avoid the neighbors trailer), just to make it a little more challenging. 20150707_070645.jpg

Flash flooding in Mill City, NV today. Got my backhaul info already, was headed back to Battle Mountain from Reno, and traffic came to screeching halt at exit 149 (I-80). At one point there was almost a foot of water rolling across the east bound lanes...and the east bound exit was way deeper. After it slowed enough to move, a mile or so up the road there was so much mud and debris across the road that it looked like we were off roading. Just before that, around the old T/A at Rye Patch, lighting hit close enough to raise the hair on the back of my arms, and it was a instant boom-boom right after the flash-flash. I got to Winnemucca and called it a day...

Well first week and a half of the local gig is working out ok. Enjoying the extra home time but already missing the excitement of the opportunity to take some new roads to different places. Money is going to be closer to the same as I was making OTR than I thought which is a nice surprise. We are able to clock in for a few hours before leaving to SLC and after returning which helps to make up for the loss in miles per week. So far so good.

Got my back haul picked up and rolling yesterday. Made it to Santa Rosa today, deliver tomorrow in Midland. I hustled it over here hoping that I could either roll back because they couldn't find anything, or get empty and pick up something that I could deliver and get back to the yard before payroll cuts off...a couple weeks ago they told me to roll back from Enid, OK...300+ miles, so Midland is only 10-15 farther...but noooooooo. I deliver Saturday in Midland, have to wait until noon Monday to pick up in Abilene going to....Houston...wait, I'm 300ish miles from the yard, you're deadheading me 150 miles east (towards the yard) to pick up a load going 300 miles away from the yard...and, it doesn't deliver until Tuesday....so, yet again, another carryover $0 paycheck...apps are being sent out, I can't take this much longer.

Oh...and the new engine fan they just put on, and I've been driving under 1 week...has gone nuts...it slowly rev's up and down really erratically while driving (much like you hear Maxxforces do while parked) but this never fully shuts off. My next employer will NOT have Internationals...period. I think whomever orders these in the Poly management chain should donate his paycheck to the 1st driver who breaks down each week as an apology for f'g his job up so bad...maybe if the boss had his pay get hurt, maybe he'd make better decisions about equipment and not just helping out his golfing buddy boost his sales quotas.

I know you've had your own truck before. Any interest in the Schneider Choice Program?

Nope...I cured my desire of being an O/O before going to Crete...have no interest in doing it again. Especially to Schneider...all the weight I lost at Crete to avoid the sleep study b.s.I have gained back and more...I would have to jump through all Schneider's sleep study crap scam...and I refuse to subject myself to that...ever!

W moved uptown...he lives somewhere in a gated community around DFW. I guess he didn't want to subject the Secret Service detail to farm life (just my opinion, but if I were them and had to go around in a suit, shades and talking into my sleeve, I certainly wouldn't want to have to live on a west TX farm for the long term) heck, I can barely stand coming into TX to get my Poly load and get out...I think the yahoo's that built the roads in TX learned from the construction Cajun's of Loooooosiana
