Get a banking job , you can't handle the scheduling of a OTR driver so you want e-logs. Sad , got to resort to wanting e-logs because you can't handle a 16 or 17 or 18 hr day. Which by the way , I do quite often , but here's the deal , just because I'm a wake doesn't force me by law to be on duty. My guess is you want E-log so when you finish at a customer , you can drive 2 miles to McDonalds , get breakfast then call b/h and claim your log started an hr ago , like that's gonna make them find you a log faster . Then when they don't you can cry that you aren't making enough money , because they won't keep you moving from sun up to sun set , so you can get a spot in the truck stop before it fills up. Us drivers been doing this for 20 to 30 yrs , never needed e-logs , why do you ?
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

2) the area where I live, such jobs do not exist.
3) I am not moving to an area that has them.
My kids and grand kids live within 30 or so miles from my place, and I want to see them more than once or twice a year.
There are plenty of OTR and regional jobs, and the cpm's are going up. .50 here ain't so special any more, the only thing that is, is hub miles and free trash bags...not sure that's worth staying. Maybe I could pay my bills with free trash bags...no, I don't think they'd go for that...
Our trucks have jakes, our trucks have company supplied cb, don't have a use for Sorry-ace/XM...in fact, all the bells and whistles mean one thing to me...more problems. I wouldn't drive a truck with 1/2 the stuff yours has. Auto, sorry, not for me...collision avoidance, had it at Crete...won't drive a truck with it installed...Last edited: Aug 25, 2015

within 20 / 25 miles of a regular lane for them. How often do you
see great high paying companies hiring in Kentucky when the driver isn't within a 100 miles of Lexington or Cincinnati ? I'm telling you that since 2001 when I moved down here very few companies will hire me where I'm at Real good companies anyway. Plus I do the VA , and have RA , requires injections refrigerated. Heartland once decided that they didn't want someone with RA , and disqualified me like I had some disqualifying medical issue. But why would I really want to work for heartless anyway? -

In my world
, things are falling apart as usual,
(yes i do mean my loaner) ...nothing new.
I am noticing lately that some drivers here at P
simply do not think loaner or bother getting tangled up in with one.
They wait on their truck and then get a re-load , they don't seem
to worried about pay.
The trick with Poly is simple ,
live in the DFW area or close enough
to leave your personal vehicle on the lot.
Leave the mechanical beast with the shop
when the time comes and exit stage left
Keep in touch with the shop
Come back when its ready.
The majority our personal problems
expressed here at Trucker forum would be bypassed
if we were local residents of the DFW area.

I thought I was some sort of super trucker at one point too you know. When I ran over the road and heard guys talking about auto matics and all the safety features I thought not me I'm a real trucker.I needs to shift gears and not have a computer tell me when I'm to close to another car.
I'll admit I was a pompous idiot. I had to spend three years sitting in truck stop parking lots and at shippers and receivers and driving ####in junk bare bones crap sleeper trucks making absolutely dick money and watching the world and my life go buy untill either I leveled my ego or continued to think that somebody, anybody actually gave a #### or thought it was cool that I shifted my truck manually or had a camera in it or some computer system. cause the fact is if you think it's what your more comfortable with well your in for a rude awakening cause all that stuff is coming into your trucks near you whether you like it or not. Mine as well work for a company that had the foresight to get on board now and is ahead of the curve.
Or go buy your own truck and play with the big boys it's as simple as that.Loanerdude Thanks this.
