I got my backhaul out of the house, picking up in riceboro ga tomorrow at 1800, going to Laredo for a Friday delivery before 1700.
I don't have tanker and I asked backhaul and the broker and both said it wasn't necessary so hopefully that works out lol.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Forgive me for my venting...it is simply to lower peoples expectations that are thinking it is any different here than where they are. Apparently I came here with too high of expectations myself. I had expectations of being able to make a decent living without running 350 days a year. Expectations of being in less than a dozen different trucks per year because of breakdowns. Expectations of a group of people who had the exceptional business sense to build this successful of a company from the ground up, to have the same business sense to select reliable equipment that is vital to the delivery of the products this company needs to succeed. Or for expecting some sort of compensation for the endless amount of time that is spent sitting because that unreliable equipment that I was assigned fails again.
I guess it is wrong of me to think. Sorry, it comes from my experience as a O/O where you calculate everything down to the penny. Experience that tells me that the cost of shipping with outside carriers might end up being more cost effective than buying, fueling, insuring, repairing, maintaining and paying labor for drivers of a company fleet. That and paying for the extras like tolls and health insurance for the drivers and the cost of the support staff responsible for the transportation duties. It all adds up.
Sorry if I don't live up to the standards of being just a truck driver...I guess I don't know how to just get in, sit down, shut up and....wait for the ####### TOW TRUCK AGAIN. Perhaps they need to teach ostriches how to drive. That way when things go bad, they can bury their heads in the sand until the bad times pass.
Maybe I should just fade away...it seems as though I disappoint everyone...I would be better off living in a cave somewhere in some desolate corner of the country waiting on the end of the world doing absolutely nothing...that way I don't disappoint anyone. That way I don't say anything that offends, don't have any unpopular opinion...maybe that is my destiny, to be totally obscure.Last edited: Aug 25, 2015

In my 2 years here, I've hauled 5 or 6 loads for them. None of mine ever had the volume needed to require a tanker endorsement.ArmyGuy Thanks this. -
I chose this job after working at a place for 19.5 years, figured it would be people
free for the most part and i could just be by myself out on the road.
Honestly never in all this time have I thought of myself as a Truck Driver .....
Im just a guy that drives a truck.Last edited: Aug 25, 2015

Id move to Texas , but there is absolutely nothing of interest here.
Good deal on the taxes ( no s/t)
I cannot envision a life in a place like Texas , its a dead zone.
Its like a Los Angeles , a hot concrete covered sand box except with extra rattlers
Its like the place Dorothy wanted to escape from in the movie.
Florida would work .
