I appreciate it. I was raised by depression era parents and to speak my mind. To bad so many people have to be spoken to with kid gloves. I know I get a little hostile sometimes with my rants, but sometimes you have to. It just seems like no matter which way I turn, I am always swimming against the current....and ######, my arms are tired.

Yea, he's a good person...sometimes was put into positions of being the bad guy. The kind of person who you could joke with (or about, while he was there) and he didn't get offended, he played along.

I just don't understand what is gained by staying somewhere for as long as you have, hating life where you're at to the point you just use the company you drive for as target practice day in and day out for 12 to 15 months. If it's so easy to find great jobs , like someone said about knowing where to look , if it's so apparent that this company is bottom of the barrel , it ought to be automatic that upon leaving you better yourself. Yet you stay and are creeping up on 2 yrs . It's insanity to me , to think that you're gonna gain anything by saying some of the stuff you say here. And no I'm not being unfair dude. You been telling people don't do it , you been saying run , and even went as far as saying you wish they would out source the whole thing , like that would force you to leave. But at the same time I and everyone else is out of a job then too. Its what really set me in motion to defend the fact that poly like any other company out there isn't a perfect fit for everyone. Flipside is that it's not a an absolute horrible company to everyone either , and that some people actually are happier here than they've been with other companies that they made more money at.
I can understand your need for financial stability , I can understand your complaints about the breakdowns , and I agree they penny pinch when ordering trucks so cut back they don't offer a driver a privacy curtain for when they shut down , to sleep unless you pull the inner curtain , turning your bedroom into a shoe box. These are indeed not driver friendly points for anyone including me. And yes the shop plays right into the equipment deficiency , and yes they too forgot to tighten the whole air filter housing down on a 3367 , but I caught that as I looked it over covering their tracks. Still , I understand you are not alone being in your complaints , but I'm not alone being the only Poly driver satisfied and happy where he's at.
I remember the GM of the Cardinals , talking about a couple struggling pitchers he has a couple years ago , and said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting the results to be different ... Soon one was gone , and the other is Lance Lynn , that has made changes and been one hell of a pitcher since.
I told you a month ago or so , I used to have a real bad attitude about employers , I treated them like they treated me , and it led to one thing only , a lot of jobs.
I took it all too personal , and carried baggage around with me just to have an endless supply negativity. I did that self evaluation one day about 16 or 17 yrs ago and not just for a day I did it for a few months , then worked on changing me so I could get along and keep my job and be happy.
It's as I said last night , amazing the results those changes can have for you in a positive fashion.

Anyone can drive a truck , now they might not do so well entering a pilot T/S and having to back in , but doggonit , they flew by me at about 76 mph 30 minutes ago and been trying to back in 25 minutes when you arrive at the pilot sitting out on the road cause they have it all screwed up.
One other thing , as a true professional guy that drives a truck taking pride in doing it right , you become a rarity , that a vast majority of drivers can't stand .

I stay because I have (or had) hope that things might smooth out. Or that maybe, just maybe the bugs will finally be worked out of my truck. I had a few months of peace earlier this year with it doing just that, and it looked like I finally turned a corner. But now everything has done a u-turn and I am back to where I was last year playing loaner truck roulette, draining my savings and draining my hopes. I didn't come to this company to fail, or to see how much negativity I could come up with, it just happened, and most of the time it came from either repeated equipment issues caused by defective equipment or defective repairs. The problem with you is, you only home in on my negative rants, what about when things are going smooth and I am posting something helpful or positive....I guess you missed those. You'll notice that lately, I have rarely mentioned any issues with the shop...that is because I hardly have any problems with them any more. When I came here, you hardly heard a peep out of people about truck issues, and with the previous model trucks, long term breakdowns were very rare. Now, with the fleet having been transformed to International, you can't swing a trash bag full of dead cats without hitting several drivers who are stranded days or weeks because of these trucks, or a driver who hasn't had regular problems on a weekly or monthly basis, and it is rare to hear that a truck has given a driver very few problems. The ratio of problem trucks in the fleet use to be (I am guessing here) 50:1. They would have 50 problem free trucks to 1 lemon. Now, it's still 50:1, but the 1 is the problem free truck this time.

I post what is going on, and have received many complimentary posts about my no b.s. reporting of what is going on. Good or bad, I tell it like it is, in fact, I edit myself and leave out a lot more bad some of the time. Yes, I let some of my emotion (usually anger) show through my post, but there comes a time when tolerance alone cannot contain it, and my patience hits a tipping point and it comes out.

Years ago, I bottled it up and just took it on the chin. The result, my BP got to the point to where I was in jeopardy of not passing my physical. Now, I let it out, get things out in the open and it's not bottled up killing me.

You ask why I am staying...to put it simply...I am not. PLEASE INGRAIN THAT IN YOUR MIND BEFORE ASKING WHY I STAY AGAIN BECAUSE I HAVE POSTED MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST MONTH OR SO THAT I AM PLANNING MY DEPARTURE. I am doing a little more digging into future employers (more than I did here) and applications are being sent out soon, and then you won't have to deal with my sorry arse any more...

Now don't get me wrong...moon1 has a valid point...Poly isn't all bad. They do have their positives. Length of haul once you get a truck to stay running is higher than I have seen elsewhere. Their home time policy is 2nd to none. And my paycheck has always been right. So, they aren't the worst...just the choice of equipment they stay with. If they would ditch the Internationals like so many other companies have done, or at least pay us breakdown when not on or near the yard would lighten my mood considerably.

Hey ssb, do you happen to know of a easy get to/parking wal mart off of i-10 in Florida? Preferably west of 75. Forgot my #### shower bag at the house lol. Don't want to waste time looking for one on the net, if you happen to already know of one.
