Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

Most passive(rolling) regens happen without anyone ever knowing it happens. It's when something isn't working right when things get nasty...and usually at the front of that cloud of smoke is an International logo...not always, but usually.

 

I was parked next to one doing a regen at the Ontario TA once....it looked like it was snowing carbon on my windshield...

 

So ssb did you give notice yet? Anything put you over your breaking point or just the general complaints you've had and found something different that hopefully works for you?

 

Haven't told them yet. Gonna wait until 2 weeks before my last day after rolling home and unloading.

CONSTANT equipment issues. Broke down 3 times in a week including sitting on the side of the road 6 hours the last time. Then the regular stuff as in no breakdown pay, no toll pass (ezpass etc) because they "don't want to expose their financial data to the world" (which tells me they are either hiding something or are excessively paranoid), 15,000 mile services that take days to complete, dealing with brokers in general, loaner trucks (which are like lot lizards - been used and abused by so many different drivers you don't want to get your junk anywhere near them), leaving voice mail messages that never get calls back.

Plus, the other company sounds like a much more driver friendly company with a lot better equipment and a lot better reputation handling the issues that come along in every day trucking.

I have always felt that the mark of a good company isn't in the fact that they don't have problems pop up, it's how these problems are handled that makes it a goods place.

 

By the way...forget getting your truck serviced at night for a while. I got there by 11 this a.m., 3 trucks ahead of me for a service...and it still isn't in the shop. There is no one on the late shift doing oil changes right now...I cannot wait to tell them where they can stick their truck, their shop, and their mis-managers. This company has hit an all time low.

 

Any Poly people happen to know if there is a
decent hotel / motel in the Grand Prarie area other than the La Quinta ?

 

Not that has shuttle pu at the compound. I know the knights inn across the highway from LaQuinta advertises airport shuttle service, but I never stayed there so I don't know how good or bad they are.

There's a Super 8 that was decent and reasonable off of I20 by Ripley's. I had no complaints and there's truck parking...

 

Same here , Im in the area and hoping to get out of this loaner ,
but the shop don't answer the phone .Place is rigged , no matter how
hard one tries Poly has a way of making them a loser straight out of the gate.
