Just finished dinner in Joplin,MO at the Taco Bell inside the Petro. Three hundred & sixty miles from Grand Prairie, after traveling US 75/69, & I can honestly say this is the quietest, most smooth riding truck I've ever driven. Once on I44 it felt like I was floating on air while pulling almost 78k lbs.. As the old saying goes "Time will tell".

They're better then Schneider, believe me. Schneider can't get out of their own way, either.

Orientation went well alot to take in, Met up with the other Drivers her on the thread and Timbo, JD Rentzjr, I was all ready to hit the road passed a Poly truck broke down not far from yard and 45 min from the yard low and behold my truck broke down, road service came per poly not going to fix, so I was towed backed to yard but a poly trucker friend came to me on the road took me to eat while waiting on tow truck he said he stopped at the other and it was Timbo,he was towed back too we met back at the yard, Timbo got a new truck as did I and 10 min from the yard I lost all power now back at yard to get another truck.. Ill make it home to GA before monday I hope I was promised a fully serviced truck when I come back as scheduled for next week. I think POLy should be hiring new mechanics. will keep posted.

That is one thing I do have to say I like about Prostar's, they do ride good...but I don't know about Poly's trucks, but every Crete driver I've talked to here have the same tracking problem I do....get it on an uneven road repair/construction surface or on a seam of pavement and you can't predict which way it'll decide to head. I'm thinking it's because we have a fixed fifth wheel, and it's a little too far back making the steering too light. The other thing I think you'll like is the traction control system...especially as much as you run out in the really snowy west like you do.

Sorry you guys had such a problem with your initial trucks. I guess I was pretty fortunate to dodge any major problems in the 3 I have used thus far. Hope the next ones serve you better.

Got a call from outbound about 30 minutes from Henderson with several load choices. The two ready to roll were Blaine and Sumner and the other two going to SLC and a two stopper going to Des Moines and Appleton would be ready tomorrow. I decided to man up and take the Blaine one into the eye of the coming storm:) Sitting in a deserted rest area on NV318, got the grill fired up with the ribeye on. A little drizzling rain but you can't stop a devoted griller with that:)

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but been driving a long time. I'm very impressed with the overall positive atmosphere from those in here regarding Poly. I feel for the newest drivers here though, who just left orientation all full of excitement and energy I'm sure - just to have their trucks break down just outside the yard practically. JD, I'm happy for you and your new truck, sir. Was it because of your one year anniversary there, or was that coincidence? And overall is the truck maintenance thing such a big issue that it's adversely affecting anyone's income overall? I'm thinking of applying, but the truck issues have me kind of spooked. Thoughts please?

They just bought about 100 or so new trucks and are phasing out the older freightliners. The shop really could use a lot of improvement but I haven't let it stop me as I just pick up another available loaner truck and keep on rolling while they deal with whatever issue they have to fix. It is kind of a pain in the ### to have to switch over some gear but it beats sitting at the terminal.

Well after my reset in Tulsa looks like I will be right at 3600 miles for the last 7 days once I reach Blaine, turning and burning:)

I just got out of 3190 & turned it in for a PM. Looked this morning as if they had done it. The fuel gauge quite working last trip out. I wrote it up but don't know if they fixed it. The rear leveling valve leaks until the air tanks go down to 100 psi. Other than those issues it was a good truck. Good luck.
