The people in the shop are not bad people. I like a lot of them, but there is a disconnect such that they don't seem to realize just how important their job is. They don't realize that making a driver wait can delay his paycheck a week, or maybe two.
At a previous company, I was due a PM, I pulled up to the shop at 1630, the shop closed at 1700, the mechanic told me to pull into the bay and stay in my truck, another mechanic came over to help and the PM was done by 1700. NASCAR type efficiency. There's no reason Poly couldn't do that.
Glad I moved over to Poly Trucking

They seem only able to
do what Corporate permits
them to do. -

(Not counting the 3 to 4 days wait in Henderson
for Product to be ready that goes the the NW)
Yes freight and miles seem a little off kilter lately
Not a problem for me personally , just sharing
a real world update

Real World Update #2
Outside contractors now push all the Poly Company Drivers to the end of
the loading sequence. Our load pickup times and or appts. on the other end
mean nothing to anyone around here
anymore .
15+ drivers have lost an entire day at GP just sitting and waiting for the outside carriers to get loaded and gone.
Many preset back hauls were also tossed out the window according to some drivers I spoke with due to the delays in loading . They are totally screwed it looks like.
Most Poly Drivers were scheduled for 0500 to 0900 this morning and are still here in GP and there is zero sign of movement as far as getting any of them loaded. 8 more outside contractors to
load as of this posting. More visible
entering the gate .
From a drivers perspective
There is no possible way on Earth a
place could be any more poorly managed than Poly America .
Its just not possible

This is not written in stone, but I heard Jerry Sparks passed away

In GP. the daily agenda is simple.
Per : Jessie
S.O.P. page 1 ... must be completed before page 2 is attended to.
Sorry but page 2 is real short .
Part A :
Ensure page 1 is complete.
Part B :
Tend to the house drivers , but 1st double check to ensure page 1 is all done.
If it hurts , sorry , it hurts cause of the reality of it.
